501stCast: Episode 101 goes over the current Legion strength, newly elected leaders, new costumes that are now accepted and the garrison reports. They also have details on the Galactic Academy events and panel info for Star Wars Celebration Orlando as well as trading opportunities at their booth. Good episode.

Blast From the Past (Assembly of Geeks): Uncle Buck focuses on the John Hughes/John Candy comedy Uncle Buck. Scott interviews Jean Louisa Kelly who talks about her time on the movie and what it was like working with John Candy and John Hughes. Scott also talks a little about the attempts at sequels and even the tv show. Interesting episode for those who are fans of the film.

Blast Points: Episode 66 starts with news and then they head into their main discussion which focuses on Order 66. They breakdown what we know and how it all fits together into one narrative, piecing together the bits from the films and the television show. Good episode. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Around the Web news roundup of Star Wars and beyond.

Art New

  • Dave Dorman had a nice update for his Star Wars fans, “Because I am not going to SW Celebration this year, I don’t want my fans, old and new, to miss out on any Dorman SW prints. So for one week prior to Celebration, I will have a sale on my SW artist proofs. This will probably run from April 4-12. Keep it tuned here on FB for more as we get closer. I am working on a new small oil painting of DARTH MAUL. I will have that to show and sell towards the end of the week.” You can watch Dave paint Darth Maul right here.

Book News

  • Author Jason Fry has posted part 1 and part 2 of his author notes for Imperial Justice.

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Blast Points: Episode 64 kicks off with news, some The Last Jedi stuff, scene descriptions, and then they get to what may be the best Star Wars holiday of all, St. Panaka Day! They celebrate Captain Panaka like no other with all of his dialog from The Phantom Menace, rating each line on grumpiness which turns out to be really fun. They talk about the character, and even go into why he wasn’t in Attack of the Clones. Excellent episode.

Blast Points: Episode 65 is Jason and Gabe geeking out on Star Wars Rebels “Twin Suns.” This one is fun from the get go. They talk about how Obi-Wan knows Ezra’s name, the duel, how perfect Obi-Wan is, Luke being the chosen one, and the glimpse of Luke. Great episode.

Bombad Radio: What If with The Witcher features Jeremiah and Chris Cannon as they discuss the possibility of a movie of The Witcher with lots of fan casting. Should it be based off the books or the games, and who would play who? Good episode for fans of the series. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…
