Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Aggressive Negotiations: Issue 52 covers Rey and Jyn as they talk about the two characters, their importance, how they’re similar and how they’re different.

Blast Points: Episode 59 first touches on the news with Lando, whether Snoke could be the last Jedi, Wedge in Rogue One, and then they get to the really good stuff. The main discussion of this episode is the 1977 album Living in These Star Warz. They go through the album track-by-memorable-track and this thing is golden. There’s songs about Vader and his respirator, Chewie being a rookie Wookiee and even falling in love with a droid. It’s cheesy, it’s weird, and it’s amazing. This episode is my pick of the week.

Blast Points: Episode 60 starts with news and recent happenings as usual including some info on the upcoming Star Wars Rebels episodes. Then they get into the Valentine’s Day spirit with their favorite romantic lines and smooth talking from Anakin. Very fun episode.

Brews and Blasters: Episode 107 is soloed by Joe as he takes a dive into Star Wars: The Clone Wars with a full commentary on the Mortis trilogy. This is pretty cool. Joe provides some great observations and ideas, plus you can hear the audio for the episode in the background so you can follow along. Nice way to re-experience the episodes and get a new understanding of them.

Coffee With Kenobi: Episode 63 starts with a discussion of the title The Last Jedi, and they cover other news including Woody Harrelson joining the cast of the Han Solo movie. They take a break for a video game segment on Force Arena, then come back for toy news. Their main discussion is a great conversation between Dan and Mike Pilot from Full of Sith. Dan and Mike talk Star Wars, fandom and dive into Rogue One.

Comics With Kenobi: Issue #27 starts with a comic cover discussion, they talk about the new Marvel digital content, then they review Darth Maul #1, Doctor Aphra #3, Poe Dameron #10, Star Wars #27, Star Wars #28 and they have an interview with fan comic creators Jim Mellow and Alex Ray. Good episode.

Databank Brawl: Episode 35 puts Watto up against Boss Nass as they show some love for both characters and provide plenty of voice impersonations. Fun episode as they brawl on the Ring of Kafrene.

Databank Brawl: Episode 36 features a fight between Sim Aloo, one of Palpatine’s Imperial advisors, and a member of the Imperial ground crew from Rogue One. You know, the Death Star gunner guys with light sticks. It’s a battle on the landing pad as these two go at it.

Dune Cast: Episode 4 starts with a little Dune movie news, then they head into the fourth book in the Dune saga God Emperor of Dune. As usual, Joe and Rod get into a great discussion as they dissect the philosophies, go over the plot points and characters, and share some excellent observations. For Dune fans, this is the podcast to listen to. They do go into spoilers so if you plan on reading the book, I highly recommend doing that before listening.

Fly Casual: Episode 123 kicks off with some Thrawn sitcom names which becomes a running joke throughout the episode. They also talk Disney, Star Wars and the box office. They talk about the new comic The Screaming Citadel, new Rogue One novels that are coming out called Rebels Rising and Guardians of the Whills. They talk about an episode of Catastrophe that Carrie Fisher will be on, the new addition to the Han Solo cast, Bob Iger seeing a rough cut of The Last Jedi, Star Wars: The Clone Wars leaving Netflix, Galaxy of Heroes releasing Darth Nihilus, the Star Wars Humble Bundle, Star Wars Monopoly, new Hasbro 6″ statues and Fantasy Flight Games. It’s a news and toy news episode and it’s a good one with lots of humor as usual.

Friday Night Fights (Bombad Radio): Round Robins kicks off a new monthly show and in this one they discuss all the Robins, as in Batman and Robin. And they cover just about all of them, diving into the comics and the histories of these characters. I never realized just how many Robins there have been. Good episode for those looking to learn more about Robin. Hosted by Jeremiah and Travis.

Lattes With Leia: Episode 13 starts with Amy recounting her Star Wars Day at Sea trip, Drea talks about the Disney half marathon she was in, they talk tequila and tauntauns, and for their main discussion, they cover Carrie Fisher. Good episode.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 68 goes over the show’s length, how it’s been increasing, and how we’ll be seeing new minirig episodes that are even shorter than the regular episodes.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 69 covers John Williams’ birthday with some thoughts on him and his music.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: MiniRig MiniEpisode #0001 covers this day in Star Wars history. I kind of like the idea of covering “this day in Star Wars history” information. There aren’t any podcasts that do that, at least none that I’ve listened to.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 70 is a news roundup with all the latest news as of 2/11. As always, good way to catch up fast on Star Wars news.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: MiniRig MiniEpisode #0002 covers some discussion of Star Wars and weddings. These mini-episodes are extremely short at just 1 minute, so be sure to mix these in with a playlist rather than listening to them on their own. I tend to just listen to a bunch of episodes back-to-back.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 71 features Tim’s top five lines from The Phantom Menace.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 72 covers the romance in Star Wars, for better or worse.

Rebel Force Radio: Episode 2.10.2017 features Jimmy and Jason as they talk about when they think the teaser trailer for The Last Jedi will drop, they talk about a Rogue One panel and concept art, the CGI of Tarkin and Carrie and the legal issues involved with resurrecting characters. They play some audio clips from a recent John Knoll interview on the Star Wars Rebels cameos in Rogue One, they share Billy Dee’s comments on talking with Donald Glover and his thoughts on Lando, they talk about recasting Leia, Kanye wanting to be in Star Wars, and they tackle some listener questions. Good episode.

Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 155 covers some Tangled news, the 20th anniversary of the Star Wars special editions, and their Disney Vault tour. Then they have on guests Mark Newbold and Jennifer Landa as they talk about getting into Star Wars fandom and interacting with the Star Wars community. Afterwards they talk with Teresa about Harry Potter, wands, Jedi and lightsabers. Greats guests and conversations.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 949 is part 1 of an ongoing series covering the Rogue One novelization and how it differs from the movie, ie. the extra goodies author Alexander Freed packed in. This one starts with the showdown on Lahmu.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 950 is part 2 of the Rogue One novelization series and gets into Cassian and Tivik, Jyn on Wobani and her backstory with Saw.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 951 is part 3 of the Rogue One novelization series and touches on Melshi, Draven, Mon Mothma, Yavin, Jyn and her dad.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 952 is part 4 of the Rogue One novelization series and gets into the battle on Jedha and exploring the Force.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 953 is part 5 of the Rogue One novelization series and it goes into Cassian’s thoughts on keeping Jyn alive, being a Separatist, Bor Gullet and Bodhi.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 954 is part 6 of the Rogue One novelization series and in this one they reach Eadu, cover Bodhi, Cassian, cafeteria talk, and the sniper scene.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 955 is part 7 of the Rogue One novelization series and this one is still on Eadu as it covers Baze, Blue Squadron, Galen’s death and the difference in his last words, as well as the interludes on the ventilation ports.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 956 is part 8 of of the Rogue One novelization series as Allen touches on the Draven/Mon Mothma conversation in the book that is not in the movie, the differences between the Vader/Krennic confrontation, and Jyn’s dream. All of these episodes are pretty neat as they dive deeper into Rogue One. I recommend checking them out.

Star Wars Action News: Episode 491 touches on the 40th anniversary of Star Wars, the new Revel packaging and speculation on whether Hasbro will follow suit, and they get into toy news. They review the AT-ACT, Brock reviews the Rogue One novelization with some comments on the audiobook, and they talk Uncle Milton collectibles.

Star Wars Ranked (ForceCenter): Episode 3 goes over the top five reasons to watch Star Wars Rebels. This show is hosted by Ken and Emma and in each episode they each provide their top 5 of something Star Wars. This one was a good episode.

Starships Sabers and Scoundrels: Episode 22 covers lots of stuff. They puzzle over the question of whether Kylo is speaking to just Vader’s helmet or whether his skull is in there, they play a Valentine’s message game with is funny, they talk Star Wars Celebration autographs, pin trading, and tips. Then they discuss Cassian Andor and wrap up with listener questions. Guest Michael Nipp joins them for the Celebration discussion. Good episode.
