Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Aggressive Negotiations: Issue 027 is titles “The Star Wars Show (Pitches)” which really threw me off because I thought they were talking about pitches to the YouTube series that StarWars.com has been posting each week. This episode is actually about the rumored Star Wars live action television show and ideas they have for Star Wars TV shows. They pitch an Old Republic show, a Lando and Luke show and others.

Aggressive Negotiations: Issue 028 focuses on Star Wars Rebels as they talk about what’s working, what they’d like to see the show do, the big picture, and what they’re doing wrong.

Aggressive Negotiations: Issue 029 focuses on backstories. They talk about Chewbacca and the Darth Vader comic series, Mon Mothma, Obi-Wan and the hits and misses of Legends and the new canon. Fair warning, if you like Obi-Wan’s portrayal in Kenobi or Mon Mothma’s recent appearances, this episode may rile you up a bit.

Awards Chatter: Eddie Murphy episode is a great conversation with the actor. Eddie talks about humor and his childhood, getting into comedy, Saturday Night Live, touches on his movies and gets into why he stopped doing standup and why he took a break from acting.

Awards Chatter: Jerry Seinfeld episode is a great one to listen to. Jerry talks about being a comedian, the key ingredients of creative people, Seinfeld, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, and he even brings up Star Wars toward the end.

Beltway Banthas: Episode XI features guest Riley Blanton (Star Wars Report) as they talk politics, Star Wars, and draw connections between Trump slogans and The Force Awakens marketing. Good episode.

Bombad Radio: Episode 247 features voice actor Kyle Hebert who talks about Dragon Ball Z, screaming, stresses and challenges, comics, video games and anime. Fun interview.

Brews and Blasters: Episode 85 is hosted by Joe and guest co-host Dengar Dan. Dan shares his Star Wars story, they talk about his Funko Pop collection, and they cover the newly revealed Hasbro Rogue One figures. Fun episode.

Classic Marvel Star Wars Comics: Episode #10 reviews “Behemoth From the World Below” with all their usual fun commentary, plus Randy shares a cool Kenny Baker story. Good episode.

Databank Brawl: Episode 17 features Lama Su versus Fode and Beed. This one is a bit different as the hosts didn’t like either character, so there’s not much love for Fode and Beed or Lama Su. Ends up being a pretty one sided battle. Still kind of fun.

Dune Cast: Episode #3.2 finishes their discussion of Children of Dune as they break down the story beats and explore the characters and concepts. Great episode.

Fly Casual: Episode 103 stars with some inappropriate cultural remarks then dives into reviews for Darth Vader #24. Afterwards its rumors, but nothing to worry about. They talk about Rey’s parents, kyber crystals, Alden Ehrenreich and a crazy Episode VIII rumor. Fun episode.

Galactic Fashion: Episode 15 covers items like the Poe Dameron purse and Loungefly totes, they have on guest Savanna Kiefer (TheDorkyDiva.com) to talk clothes and cosplay, and they do a little feature on Lisa Frank. Good episode.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode #0000 is the debut episode of a new podcast hosted by Tim McMahon. It’s a Star Wars podcast that’s only 2 to 3 minutes long each episode. The challenge with a short format for a podcast is delivering content that’s actually worth listening to. This podcast actually pulls it off, most of the time. This intro episode, however, you can skip as it just explains what the host’s intentions are for the podcast.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode #0001, naturally, kicks things off and this time with some real content. Tim speaks with Jason Collier (The Expanded Fandomverse) and asks some fun Star Wars questions. With the episodes being so short, you have two options: you can either binge them all at once, or you can use them to break up your podcast list (I went with binging).

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode #0002 is pretty random with the host going over three things they want – a West End Games history book, to be on the Story Group, and for the Han Solo movie not to suck. The last two points are kind of silly, but the idea of a book going over the history of West End Games is pretty compelling.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode #0003 is a conversation with podcaster Derek Daniel (Project Padawan).

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode #0004 is a follow up with Derek Daniel going through 10 rapid, random Star Wars questions.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode #0005 is a throwaway episode as the host puts out a request for Star Wars figures as he’s decided to start collecting. All in all, looking at the first five episodes of this new podcast, it has some potential. The quick interviews were a lot of fun, and the two to three minute format is definitely unique.

Rebel Force Radio: Episode 8.26.2016 covers Jason’s birthday, Robert Lopez’s appearance on Star Wars Oxygen, new Rogue One figures for Rogue Friday, the non-distinct wardrobe of Rogue One, Jimmy’s Early Bird Special purchase, news and more.

Rebel Grrrl: Episode 43 is hosted by Amanda and features guests Julia and Cat as they talk about the Star Wars and the Power of Costume exhibit in New York. They also talk about Star Wars costumes in general, and speculate on Rogue One, both the characters and the film. Good episode.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 784 features a quick interview with editor and author Rod Gillies. Kind of neat.

Star Wars Oxygen: Volume 34 features composer Robert Lopez as they geek out on the music of Star Wars, touch on temp tracks, play a song that inspired the cantina music, and Robert shares how Star Wars Oxygen inspired him. Very good episode.

Starships Sabers and Scoundrels: Episode 10 covers book news, the possibility of moving Episode VIII up to May, prequel what if’s with guest Thomas Riddle, and listener questions. Fun episode.

Talk Star Wars: Episode 38 delves into Luke’s use of the Force choke on the Gamorrean guards, light and dark Force abilities, the last of the Jedi, spirituality, what if Rey is the true chosen one, prequel character solo movies, movie ratings, will there be clones in Rogue One, will we see the Emperor in Rogue One, the Obi-Wan fan trailer and more. Great as always with top notch discussions.

The Jedi Beat: Growing Up Lucas covers George Lucas’ childhood, starting with his father. This is a great little episode as Jennifer dives into what George’s early years were like, what his parents were like, his childhood, his love for cars, and it all builds up to his car accident which changed his life. Definitely a good one to listen to.
