Here is this week’s Around the Web news roundup of Star Wars and beyond.

Book News

  • Brecker & Meyer is doing a special four book Star Wars set of The Jedi Path, Book of Sith, The Bounty Hunter Code and Imperial Handbook. No word yet on a release date, but definitely a nice way to get them all if you haven’t picked them up yet.
  • As we countdown to the next Star Wars novel, Bloodline, Star Wars Insider will be prepping readers with a short tie-in story called “Scorched.” Written by Delilah S. Dawson, “Scorched” will be appearing in Star Wars Insider #165 (due out on April 27). It stars Greer Sonnel, “a rising star preparing to take part in The Gauntlet, a challenging and dangerous starfighter race. Greer Sonnel is a key character – and close ally of Senator Leia Organa – who will be featured in Claudia Gray’s upcoming STAR WARS: BLOODLINE. SCORCHED takes place before the events of the novel and provides insight into Greer’s background and character.” The short story will also include artwork by Joe Corroney.
  • Entertainment Weekly has an excerpt from Chuck Wendig‘s next Star Wars novel Aftermath: Life Debt.
  • Plus Del Rey now has even more ways to win a free copy of Bloodline or a free Bloodline poster.
  • RebelScum is reporting that Star Wars actor Felix Silla has a book out called The World of Felix Silla. It’s an 88 page softcover and available directly from him via his Facebook page.
  • There’s a new Kickstarter out there for a mech anthology novel called MECH: Age of Steel Anthology which includes stories by Kevin J. Anderson and Martha Wells.
  • And edelweiss has updated their book catalogs with a bunch of new Star Wars titles.
