Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

BNN (Bombad Radio): Episode 12.21.2015 covers the box office records for The Force Awakens, speculates on whether the sequels will do as good, they talk about gamers and women, the new Star Trek trailer, Rogue One news, and the usual upcoming movie/video game/comic releases. One bad thing about this episode though is that is some mic issues and it gets kind of bad by the end of the episode.

Brews and Blasters: Episode #50 is their The Force Awakens discussion episode. Yes, everybody will be doing these, but I really hope they all won’t be this long. Brews and Blasters appears to have the high score with 3 hours, 32 minutes and 47 seconds. That…is a long…episode. It is packed with good stuff, though, lots of guests, tons of observations and discussion points, but yeah, I think this would have been way better as two episodes instead of one massive episode. That said, if you can put away the time necessary to chew through this whole thing in one sitting, you’ll definitely get all that after-movie anxiety out of your system. My favorite part, however, is how they approach they’ll be doing spoilers and then BAM, they throw out the biggest spoiler right off the bat to get it out there. Very funny.

Children of the Force: Episode #21 chronicles their day of The Force Awakens–from the disbelief of the wait being over at breakfast, the anticipation during the drive to the theater, their thoughts right before the movie starts while in their seats, and then their thoughts following the movie, plus a review proper afterwards. Great discussion with unique viewpoints as we get Al, Anna and Liam’s reactions and thoughts on the film as well as their thoughts on the IMAX 3D difference.

Comics With Kenobi: Issue #11 starts with them sharing the new shirts they’re offering on Teepublic, then they review Star Wars #12, Kanan #8, Chewbacca #4 and Vader Down #1. Lot of agreement in this episode as my opinions were pretty much spot on with the hosts for each issue, plus there’s some great observations like Vader’s Fist now being canon and EMP devices not affecting lightsabers.

Fly Casual: Episode 69 is a reviews and rumors episode. They review Chewbacca #4, Darth Vader #13, Star Wars #13, Star Wars Rebels “Stealth Strike” and “Future of the Force”, then head into rumors. It’s an okay episode overall.

Full of Sith: Episode CXLV is their Force Awakens pre-show as they discuss expectations.

Full of Sith: Episode CXLVI is the one you’re looking for. Mike, Bryan, Amy and Bobby dive into the theirs of The Force Awakens for a full review including spoilers, thoughts on the music, Finn, Kylo Ren, and lots of great questions and observations. I just realized I can’t really share all the cool notes I took on the episode as they’re all spoilers. Nonetheless, soak it up cause this is the good stuff. Definitely recommend this one.

Rebel Force Radio: Episode 12.18.2015 is their Force Awakens pre-show with guests and music live from the theater. After the end credit music they do an initial reaction to the movie with spoilers.

Rebel Force Radio: TFA Review Show #1 is their first full on dive into the movie as they delve into spoilers, fan feedback and pros and cons. However, the highlight of the episode is their two special guests: David Collins and James Arnold Taylor. They both reveal the voice work they did for The Force Awakens, sharing behind-the-scenes moments, who did what voices, which voice actors were involved, and more. It really makes this episode great and a must listen, earning it my pick of the week. Seriously, if you saw the movie, you’ll want to listen to this episode to get the behind-the-scenes stories. It’s the next best thing to not having that Making of book yet.

Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 104 recaps their world premiere experience of The Force Awakens, seeing and meeting celebs, hanging out with the LiningUp.Net people, with audio both before and after the event. Then they cover the press screening they went to, and finally their midnight screening with LiningUp.Net and the TCL Chinese IMAX theater with a roundtable spoiler discussion of the film. Note there’s plenty of warning before they get to the spoilers if you’re still holding out. Overall, great episode.

Star Wars Report: Episode #199 features Riley and special guest Bobby Roberts from Full of Sith as they talk a little bit about everything in the anticipation of the movie’s release. Not something you have to listen to but you might want to check it out.
