The 602 Club: Episode 54 covers the James Bond film Skyfall. Rather than just covering movie aspect by aspect, they cherry pick some excellent topics for discussion that explore the character of Bond, how they developed and used him in the film, and some of the themes. Terrific episode for Bond fans with top notch discussion, superb audio quality and a great flow. Very professional.
Bombad Radio: BNN for 11.9.2015 covers the news for video games, movies, television and more. They talk about Star Wars, Warcraft, Star Trek, and Age of Empires. Good episode with your quick burst of weekly news.
Bombad Radio: Episode 212 is a collection of interviews Jeremiah did at Salt Lake Comic Con including all three Animaniacs, Dee Bradley Baker, Manu Bennett, Vic Mignogna, Christopher Gorham, and John Eaves. Great bunch of interviews with a wide variety of guests. Fun episode.
Brews and Blasters: Episode 40 is their Back to the Future episode as they do a full commentary for the first film. There’s a brief intro, then they dive into the commentary with is pretty good. They keep it fun and entertaining with not a lot of dead air. Would be perfect for a rewatch of the film, and is good enough on its own to listen to without watching the film.
Brews and Blasters: Episode 42 is their The Force Awakens trailer discussion episode as they speculate, raise questions and make some good observations. They also talk about ticket sales and Star Wars Rebels impressions on “Relics of the Old Republic.” One thing that really caught my interest was the comparison they drew between Kylo Ren’s dialog and now them finishing the story George Lucas started.
Brews and Blasters: Episode 41 is all over the place as they go from lime to Star Wars. This one is pre-Monday, so before the trailer drop and tickets going on sale. They talk about a furniture store that’s also an IMAX theater and a Bean Town attraction, they do their Ki-Adi-Monday stuff, hand out an Oppo award, cover the upcoming Rhode Island Comic Con, mention Warwick Davis’ RV being stolen, give a spoiler free opinion on the Lando comic, touch on NYCC comic news, books news, thoughts on Star Wars Rebels “The Lost Commanders”, and more. As I said, it’s all over the place, but it’s fun, funny, and a good episode. If you’re looking to try out a different Star Wars podcast, give this one a try.
Brews and Blasters: Episode 6, yep, I dove way back into the archives for this one, but it was worth it. In this episode they review Caravan of Courage, the oft forgotten about Star Wars film that came out after Return of the Jedi. If you like Ewoks, this one is a must listen. They take a positive spin on it that doesn’t ridicule the film, and points out the fun things. If you haven’t seen the movie, this episode my spark your interest in doing so. There’s roughly a 9 minute into, but afterward the full commentary kicks in. My favorite moments: “Caravan of Killing”, “I was the rat beast”, “chupacabra” and the “lumberjack Ewok.” To get the context, you’ll have to listen. Worth some laughs.
Coffee With Kenobi: Episode 46 has Dan and Jeff start the episode off as they cover The Force Awakens character posters. The Bearded Trio has their usual news burst which is always fun. Then they break out the big guns as Dan and Corey talk with Freddie Prinze Jr. about Star Wars Rebels. Must listen to episode here, and my pick of the week.
Comic Book Noob: The Flash Episode covers all the different Flashes, the extent of his powers, the Flash on the show, Reverse Flash and recommended reading. As usual, great episode. Highly recommend this one for fans wishing to dig deeper into the Flash and comics.
Disney Vault Talk: Beauty and the Beast starts with the usual pre-show discussion, mail, then heads into fun facts, history and the main discussion. For this one, they’re joined by Riley and Bethany from Star Wars Report. It’s funny because Bethany actually hasn’t seen this movie and while recording, Teresa was trying to get tickets for The Force Awakens. So it’s not your typical episode, but it’s still fun.
EndorCast: Episode 6 begins with a Star Wars Rebels discussion of “The Lost Commanders” and “Relics of the Old Republic.” Then they talk about The Force Awakens trailer music, upcoming Rebel Legion events, and they play some audio from the inductions of Skywalking Through Neverland and Star Wars in Character into the Rebel Legion. Good episode and nice to hear that they’re now the official podcast of the Rebel Legion. Congrats!
My Star Wars Story: Episode 15 keeps it fresh by bringing in Teresa Delgado, their second female guest and yet another member of the prequel generation. Teresa’s story is very different from all the previous episodes and it’s refreshing. She talks about seeing Return of the Jedi on the small screen, falling in love with Ewoks, seeing The Phantom Menace and finding the spark for her fandom, her love for dark side characters–but not Dooku–and her dive into collection. It’s a great story and a well worth a listen.
Rock Out Loud: Def Leppard Listening Party is their live listen review of Def Leppard’s new album. They go through the whole thing, track-by-track, with audio clips from each song. In essence, it’s an absolutely awesome episode. I did not want to stop listening. If you’re a Def Leppard fan, put this one on your playlist.
Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 97 starts with Richard and Sarah sharing their thoughts on The Force Awakens trailer. Then they talk Star Wars Rebels with the hosts of Brews and Blasters which quickly spills out into all things Star Wars for a very fun conversation. Then they talk with George Shaw, the writer and composer for Star Wars Musical. Afterwards they talk with Russell Flores, the author of Seen, Unseen Disneyland, about the Tower of Terror attraction at Disneyland. Great episode as always.
Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 99 covers upcoming events, Rich does a quick review of Peanuts movies, then they bring on guest Dave Parfitt from Adventures By Daddy who talks about his Pixar trip. Very heavy Pixar discussion covering Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur including audio clips from press conferences. Very cool.
Star Wars Oxygen: Volume 22 opens with a full discussion of the music for The Force Awakens trailer. Afterwards they wrap up with a little bit of discussion as they begin the journey into Revenge of the Sith. Regarding their TFA discussion, I really liked David’s insight on the synth music. Great stuff.
Star Wars Report: Episode #191 opens up with Riley going Solo as he talks about the fallout of The Force Awakens trailer–not the content, but it’s affect on fandom. Later he’s joined by Mark, and there’s also an audio clip of a radio appearance Riley made on BBC Radio. Nice episode.
