Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

The 602 Club: Episode S8 covers the new YA books released by Disney-Lucasfilm publishing including Weapon of a Jedi, Moving Target and Smuggler’s Run. Fair warning, there are lite spoilers, so you might want to steer clear until you’ve read the books. Good episode, though. Of the podcasts doing Star Wars book coverage, these guys are at the top of the game when it comes to discussion and sound quality.

Assembly of Geeks: Star Wars Rebels and NYCC 2015 features several guests include Richard and Sarah from Skywalking Through Neverland, and Dan Zehr from Coffee With Kenobi. In particular, Dan stops by to talk Star Wars Rebels with the hosts, plus this episode covers some highlights from New York Comic Con. Great episode.

BNN (Bombad Radio): Episode 10.12.2015 covers apps Disney is dropping, Rick Moranis news, 4K TV, movie news, video game news, a mini Star Wars: Battlefront beta report and comic releases. If you’re looking for a concentrated blast of news, they’ve got you covered.

BNN (Bombad Radio): Battlefront Full Review episode takes the convo that started in the weekly BNN episode and spins out into a full discussion of what the beta revealed about the game and what the gameplay is like. If you missed out on the beta, it’s a good way to get filled in.

Coffee With Kenobi: Episode #45 starts with some NYCC coverage plus some quick interviews with Taylor Gray, Ashley Eckstein and Dave Filoni. Following that is the usual Bearded Trio segment, though this week’s audio was really messed up. Afterwards Sarah and Richard from Skywalking Through Neverland drop by to have some fun as they continue their Halloween spooktacular podcast crossover contest. Then Corey and Dan get into a discussion of fandom, the fan community and traveling. James Burns and Mark Newbold join Dan as they continue the discussion, and it’s an interesting conversation. Nice episode.

Fangirls Going Rogue: Episode #24 includes some audio clips from the Star Wars Rebels press conference, a discussion of the Star Wars Cover Girl makeup products, an update on Drew Karpyshyn, plus a focus on Kohl’s fangirl advertising and a conversation with Lillian Skye who was part of the ad. They also provide some highlights on Daisy Ridley, Gwendoline Christie, and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Jam packed episode with lots to check out.

Fly Casual: Episode 60 covers Star Wars news, the Pan trailer, a vinyl (aka record) discussion, David Prowse doing voice work, the Star Wars Rebels trailer and new figures shown at New York Comic Con. Lots of topics and fun as always. If you’re looking for a general topics Star Wars discussion podcast, it’s worth checking out.

Full of Sith: Episode CXXXVI is their New York Comic Con coverage from the con. Mike and Bryan talk with Erich and Tom from Del Rey about Star Wars books. Bryan and Amy talk some about their con experiences and they have a quick interview with Ashley Eckstein and Dave Filoni. Fun episode.

Great Big Beautiful Podcast: Episode 32 starts with a NYCC report and the news about Ashley Eckstein revealing Her Universe Press. They they talk with Dee Bradley Baker about voicing the clones and coming to Star Wars Rebels, Ashley Eckstein about Ahsoka and shaping the character, and Vanessa Marshall. Their quick little interviews but fun.

RebelForce Radio: Episode 10.13.15 features Jason, Jimmy and Sheldon as they talk Star Wars news, Dave Prowse, NYCC announcements, Benicio del Toro, Sarah Michelle Gellar and more.

Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 96 includes a discussion with Pat Pattison about The Phantom Menace fast food merchandise campaign which he participated in, how he designed the Jack in the Box antenna balls and how they transitioned to Disney characters, and just some general things about marketing. Pretty neat interview. After that, they talk with Ric Peralta about lining up for The Force Awakens and the events they’ve set up so far. Then Adam O’Brien from Jogcast Radio comes on to talk about Halloween in Australia, which is pretty cool. Fun episode.

Star Wars Rebels Declassified:The Lost Commanders” episode features Jason, Jimmy, Tricia and Steve as they discuss the episode, the clones, Ahsoka and more. Prior to their episode review, they actual touch on some general Rebels topics before diving into the episode proper. Good episode with great guests.

Star Wars Report: Episode #186 features guest Scott Ryfun (My Star Wars Story) as Riley talks about guesting on The 602 Club, a Star Wars fan edit he watched called The Mentor which focuses on Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Chicago news article on middle aged Star Wars fans, the different generations of Star Wars fans, rumors on original film re-releases, Hyperspace Mountain and other theme park changes, Darth Vader’s lightsaber and a variety of other topics. Scott is a great guest, which makes this one a lot of fun to listen to.

Star Wars Report: TFA Poster Mini-Cast is Riley’s five minute take on the poster. At a little over five minutes in total length, you can squeeze this one in between other shows.

The Younglings Podcast: Episode 10 recaps the summer news in a nice little roundup with a fresh perspective. Plus they do a fun scene re-enactment of a “what-if” featuring characters from The Force Awakens. It’s fun, it’s short and they have excellent sound quality. Check em out. Makes a great addition to your playlist.
