Books News

  • Disney-Lucasfilm Press released three new titles this week that each retell the original trilogy films with a their own vibe: The Princess, the Scoundrel, and the Farmboy by Alexandra BrackenSo You Want to be a Jedi? by Adam Gitwitz and Beware the Power of the Dark Side! by Tom Angleberger.
  • DK Books posted an update on Star Wars Reads Day. There’s a contest for bookstores, libraries and schools to win a visit from author Michael Kogge, as well as a list of all the events that will be happening. Click here to check it out and plan ahead.
  • Blizzard Entertainment is partnering with Random House and next year we’ll be getting a new StarCraft novel by Timothy Zahn.

Comic Book News

  • Vader Down #1 will be getting a Dave Dorman variant cover. If you’re heading to Heroes Expo this weekend, Dave will have the original art on display.
  • StarWars.com has part two of Phil Noto‘s sketchbook showing off some interior artwork for the upcoming Chewbacca comics.

  • Facebook has something really weird, but kind of awesome. It’s a video you can watch, but also manipulate, that shows off the planet Jakku. Check it out.
  • Star Wars Insider Magazine #160 is out now.
  • GQ has an interview with John Boyega.
  • Variety has an interview with Gwendoline Christie.
  • Geek Rant has an interview with author Jason Fry covering his new book Weapon of a Jedi.
  • Channel 1138 interview author Troy Denning. You can listen to it here (starts at 33 minute mark).
  • Drew Karpyshyn has a couple pieces of news out. First up, you can see the map for his Chaos Born series. Secondly, he’s returning to BioWare, and third, he’ll be doing a reddit AMA on October 8th.

Movie & Television News

  • There’s a rumor on Reddit about some upcoming content we might be getting based off of the unreleased Star Wars: The Clone Wars sixth season content. If true, it could be spoilerish, so read it at your own risk. Put simply, it involves Ahsoka.
  • Prometheus 2 now has a title: Paradise Lost.

Toy & Collectible News

  • From posters to sarlacc teeth, Profiles in History has an upcoming eBay auction that’s worth a look. Some of the items are actual props from the Star Wars films, like Carrie Fisher’s metal bikini Huttslayer outfit, while others, like the Jabba maquette, are one of a kind pieces that actually inspired the elements in the films. While some items are very expensive, others have reasonable opening bids, though they probably won’t stay that way.
  • Sideshow’s sixth scale Jango Fett is up for preorder.
  • ANOVOS preorders for First Order Stormtrooper helmets are up.
  • Hot Toys’ First Order Snowtroopers are now up for preorder.
  • Walmart.com has a look at the upcoming The Force Awakens Black Series 3-3/4 inch figures: Rey, Finn and Poe.
  • SH Figuarts is offering a Shadow Trooper at Tamashii Nation 2015.
  • You can catch a look at the upcoming Disney Elite Series Darth Maul right here.
  • Barnes & Noble will be getting two exclusive Kotobukiya statues: Utapau Clone Trooper and TC-14 protocol droid.
  • If you’re an American and you’re wanting to get those cool looking Star Wars stamps from the UK, then Jedi News has a post that could help you out.
