Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Assembly of Geeks: they go over some of their experiences at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. Afterwards they discuss their reactions to the Superman v. Batman: Dawn of Justice trailer, Peggy Carter renewal news, kid who reaches out to George Lucas about Jedi and marriage, they discuss The Force Awakens trailer, and then they have a guest on to talk and speculate about how BB-8 works. With lots of geeky discussion and a heaping dose of Star Wars, this is a good one to add to your playlist.

Bombad Radio: Star Wars: Battlefront Panel features audio from the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim panel. I haven’t had a chance to watch the livestream video so this was a good way for me to catch up on what happened at the panel. Notably the game will be 1st and 3rd person, Sullust is in the game, heroes and villains will be playable, it will be out November 17 with the battle of Jakku DLC coming out December 8 for free. But aside from all that, there’s some fun stories, especially Doug Chiang’s comments about working on the project.

EndorCast: Episode III recaps their experiences at Star Wars Celebration. It’s interesting because in this case, it’s from the viewpoints of members of the Rebel Legion and Mandalorian Mercs. They talk about the events they were able to go to, meeting Dave Filoni, Sam Witwer and Anthony Daniels, the running of the Willrow Hoods, the RebelForce Radio party, the 501st bash, the Willrow Hood ice cream social, and their trooping events. They also have an interview with Felix Silla who talks about The Adam’s Family, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Flash Gordon and Return of the Jedi. I did not know he played Cousin It or that he doubled for Short Round. It’s a cool interview, and if you’re looking for Celebration recaps and stories, they have you covered there too.

Fangirl Chat: Topps Star Wars Trading Cards Gone Digital features an interview with Neil Kleid & Steve Ciccarelli as they talk about the Topps Star Wars digital cards, designing it, integrating it with the physical card aspect, and even what cards they’ve been trying to collect. It’s a cool interview and worth listening to if you’re into the app.

Full of Sith: Episode CXIII starts with a lightsaber discussion as Bryan brings up the question of how Luke built his lightsaber for Return of the Jedi and the storytelling possibilities there. Then Bryan, Amy and Bobby discuss what wasn’t shown at Star Wars Celebration: a new high resolution release of the Original Trilogy. They talk about the value of a new version, the changes that have happened over the years, and their thoughts on all the changes. It’s a fun discussion and worth checking out.

Hyperspace Theories: Star Wars Celebration Anaheim Day One Coverage features Tricia, Kay and BJ at Celebration talking about getting into the Celebration Stage for the trailer panel, their thoughts on it, and some pretty good analysis of the trailer.

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2015 Recap features Tricia, Kay and BJ recapping their Celebration experience with lots of fun stories and coverage.

Hyperspace Theories Episode 7 discusses Dave Filoni and his work in Star Wars with The Clone Wars and Rebels. They cover his storytelling abilities as well as his connection with fandom. It’s a fun discussion.

Ion Cannon: Episode #28 features an extensive recap of their four day experience at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. William, Stephen and Tom all share their stories, and Eric chimes in for Saturday and Sunday’s events. They go over the panels they attended, the things they did, the people they met, and their thoughts on all the trailers. It’s worth listening to as they attended some panels I missed and haven’t heard much about.

My Star Wars Story: Episode 10 features Joseph Tavano’s Star Wars story. Interesting as always, Joseph’s story delves into his first real Star Wars memories involving the Ewok village and speeder bike chase. He talks about never really having a dark times period, but getting back into Star Wars through his bandmates. He talks about seeing the special editions and the prequels and his love for Revenge of the Sith. His story shows that everyone’s Star Wars experience is different, and surprisingly enough, they’re all entertaining to hear.

Rock Out Loud: A Knight’s Tale Soundtrack Series first dives into a lot of listener feedback, nearly an hour’s worth before they get to their main topic. Afterwards they go through the soundtrack for A Knight’s Tale song-by-song. I’ve never listened to the soundtrack for the movie, but I have seen the movie and I was very familiar with a lot of the songs. It’s a pretty good soundtrack and makes for a good episode. Kristin and Steve have plenty of stories and commentary for the songs and the movie. Definitely a fun episode.

Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 76 is their May the 4th episode. They cover upcoming events and news, touch on what they did for May the 4th, then break into an excellent interview with voice actor Stephen Stanton. The interview turns into a great conversation as they talk Star Wars, movies, television shows and commercials, special effects, Peter Cushing and much more. Stephen shares a lot of stories and does quite a few voices along the way. It’s a very fun interview. Later on they have two mini-interviews with John Ratzenberger and Clive Revill who touch on their roles in the Star Wars films. Overall awesome episode.

Star Wars Action News: Episode 448 includes audio from their Star Wars Celebration Anaheim collector’s panel where they talk about their purchases, the huge wait time for the Celebration Store (which they comment is the worst it’s been since Celebration III), hard to get exclusives, trailer discussion, thoughts on Sideshow’s panel and what questions they didn’t answer. They also talk about FX Collectibles 1:1 scale remote controlled R2-D2, the Fantasy Flight Games panel which is making a Hound’s Tooth, the small showing from Hasbro, reassurance that Ahsoka won’t be the only 6-inch Black Series Star Wars Rebels figure, and a bunch of collecting stories. If you like collecting Star Wars stuff, this episode will catch your interest.
