Book News

Comic News

  • Marvel announced that Stuart Immonen will be replacing artist John Cassaday on the Star Wars series starting with Star Wars #8. There will also be a special guest artist doing Star Wars #7 making Cassaday’s last comic Star Wars #6.
  • I missed this one last week, but Marvel revealed the cover for Shattered Empire #1 which will be out September 2015.

Convention & Event News

Disney released some press news yesterday that revealed a couple of the Star Wars Rebels panels that will be happening at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. “New Allies and New Villains in Star Wars Rebels Season Two” is Saturday from 11:00 AM to Noon on the Celebration Stage and will feature a sneak peak at season two along with cast and crew members.

Then later on the Star Wars Rebels Season Two Global Premiere Screening will be shown from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at the Digital Stage with a one hour red carpet event before hand.

In other Celebration news, “From World War to Star Wars” is coming back and the world’s largest Star Wars painting will be on display.

  • Sci-Fi Weekender is March 19 to 22 in Pwllheli, Wales. Star Wars guests include Julian Glover.
  • Toronto Comicon is March 20 to 22 in Toronto, ON. Star Wars guests include Dickey Beer, Michael Bell, Steve Blum, David Ross and Stephane Roux.

  • Jedi News has an interview with Star Wars author James Luceno. It’s actually a pretty cool as they talk about some things you might not expect, like James playing in a band in the 60’s,  travelling the world, learning carpentry and meeting Brian Daley.

  • Amy Ratcliffe and Johnamarie Macias are organizing an Ahsoka Lives event at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim for Friday.

  • According to Film Music Reporter, Alexandre Desplat will be handling the music score for Star War: Rogue One.
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron tv spot #2.
  • Brilliant or horrible, the end of the Pixels trailer made me laugh. It’ll be out July 24th.
  • Now this horror movie has a nice spin to it. What would happen if your dreams came true? What would happen when you have a nightmare? Before I Wake will be out May 8th.

Toy & Collectible News

  • Via 3A‘s regular Q&A’s with Ashley Wood, he revealed a bit more about the upcoming Star Wars Alternate line.

Q: Congrats on getting Star Wars! What are you most looking forward to putting your spin on? Does this mean we’ll finally see those 1/12th Stormies?
Ash: I’m kinda excited about making a heavy blaster rogue Jawa, but actually I’m kinda excited by it all! Of course the Stormy, Vader, the Bounty Hunters, more obscure stuff too… I’m very fortunate to have this opportunity!
