Fandom News

  • Author Paul S. Kemp helped edit a kid’s book written by his son. It’s called A Not So Scary Halloween Night. You can check it out on Amazon.
  • John Morton did the ALS challenge and was dunked by Jeremy Bulloch. I have to admit, that’s pretty classy, Fett vs Fett.

Movie & Television News

  • Making Star Wars has some footage of Star Wars Episode VII actually being filmed. The shot includes the X-wing bunker area. If you’re worried about spoilers, this one is fairly safe, just some people running around in the distance.
  • Star Wars Episode 7 News has some slightly blurry shots of Adam Driver and possibly Gwendoline Christie, both in costume.
  • Rian Johnson talks a little about Star Wars Episode VIII with the Talkhouse Podcast, SlashFilm has a nice summary of the key bits.
  • Anthony Daniels talked a little about Star Wars Episode VII with Entertainment Weekly.
  • Bad Robot revealed a short clip of video showing off the Millennium Falcon and it’s Batman connection.
  • Plus there’s a bunch of Star Wars Rebels TV spots you can watch.
  • Beyond Star Wars, I was caught off guard by the news that they’re remaking Ben-Hur. Toby Kebbell is set to play the villain (and I’ve never heard of him, so that doesn’t fill me with confidence), however Jack Huston is set to play the lead. Jack played the disfigured hitman in Boardwalk Empire, a very cool character role, but I’m not sure how he would fit as Ben-Hur. The film will be out February 26, 2016 and is being directed by Timur Bekmambetov (who did Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, another bad indicator).
  • Fantastic Four is getting pushed back again. The release date is moving to August 7, 2015 (was June 16).
  • Fox has given the Deadpool movie a release date: February 12, 2016. Unfortunately, the Assassin’s Creed movie is getting pushed back.
  • A Violent Year starring Oscar Isaac now has a trailer and it looks intriguing. Release date is December 31, 2014.
  • The Dead Snow 2 trailer is out and the film will be hitting theaters October 10th. This one might be fun to watch.
  • For those interested in shorts, “Dust” is worth watching. Starring Alan Rickman, the short film is actually really good.

Toy & Collecting News
