Dave Dorman is one of the greats when it comes to Star Wars art. While he may not be on the same level as concept artists like Ralph McQuarrie and Joe Johnston whose artwork directly affected the films, Dave has still left his mark on the franchise.

His covers have graced Star Wars comics since Dark Horse’s Dark Empire series back in 1991. He’s also done covers and interior illustrations for Star Wars books like Young Jedi Nights and Dark Forces: Jedi Knight as well as magazines like Star Wars Insider and even Topps trading cards. But most impressive of all is that George Lucas has over 70 of Dave Dorman’s original paintings in his personal collection.

Thus we present an extensive collection of Dave Dorman’s Star Wars artwork for your viewing pleasure. From the Emperor to Ewoks, Dave has brought the galaxy far, far away to life. Continue Reading Dave Dorman’s Star Wars Legacy…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review. For those looking for John Jackson Miller interviews, you’re in luck, as they’re are plenty (though more to come).

Coffee with Kenobi: Book Chat with John Jackson Miller covers his new Star Wars novel A New Dawn which stars two of the main characters from the upcoming television series Star Wars Rebels. They cover the outreach of the book, going after old and new fans alike, the timing of the project, where Kanan and Hera are at this point in their lives, and more. As always, the hosts put together a great interview with excellent questions and good production quality.

Disney Vault Talk: The Saludos Amigos episode covers a Disney movie I’ve never seen. It’s a collection of shorts woven with some documentary footage to create a highlight piece for South America during a time when the US was vying for allies in WWII. As usual, Teresa shares some fun facts and trivia that sheds new light on the films and the company that made them. Together, Steve and Teresa give a nice feel for what the film is like and what it accomplished. For someone like me who isn’t very well versed in the Disneyverse, they do a great job of offering insight and provoking interest. If you like Disney or are just interested in the subject, be sure to give this one a try.

Fangirls Going Rogue: Episode #10 features special guest Steve Glosson, which means you’re in for a treat. They start out with listener feedback and a very nice discussion on cosplay and fandom. They get into their recommended episode picks for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Steve talks about how his Star Wars fandom began, what he feels is the most underrated thing in Star Wars (Hayden Christensen), they cover some Star Wars Episode VII news, and the character discussion this month is Chewbacca which leads to lots of fun conversation. A great episode all around.
