Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Assembly of Geeks: “Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool & Ivy Doomkitty” episode starts with an interview with cosplayer Ivy Doomkitty. Then they talk about the leaked Deadpool test footage with Ryan Reynolds and cover some other news and rumors. The main discussion, however, is Guardians of the Galaxy which all three hosts managed to see. They share their thoughts and how they thought it ranked with the other Marvel movies.

Bombad Radio: August Free-For-All Episode features Jeremiah, James and Jesse. They cover the leaked Deadpool footage featuring Ryan Reynolds, Age of Ultron news, lots of SDCC stuff, a strange Spider-Man statue in Korea, other Spider-Man news, Flash, Gotham, Mad Max: Fury Road, Sinister 6, Wonder Woman, Dwayne Johnson and even a little bit about Agent Carter. It’s a jam packed movie and tv discussion episode.

Coffee with Kenobi:A Cup of Clone Wars – The Disappeared Parts I & II” features special guests Laird Malamed (Indy Cast) and Chris Hamilton (Star Wars Kidscast) as they cover the Jar Jar/Mace episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season Six. From Mace’s treatment of Jar Jar, the music, Mother Talzin and all the Indy nods, they cover a wide range of topics. Fun discussion to check out.

Full of Sith: Episode LXXVII is a great show features guests Dan and Cory from Coffee with Kenobi. The whole gang weighs in on Star Wars Rebels, Kevin Kiner, Greg Weisman and even some Leia discussion. Lots of great topics and definitely worth checking out.

RebelForce Radio: Episode 8.8.2014 covers their trip to the west coast as they visited Skywalker Ranch and Lucasfilm headquarters. They talk with Dave Filoni about podcasting and the differences between Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It’s a friendly discussion but not too deep on Rebels. Jason and Jimmy talk about Bail Organa, the feel of Rebels, and the sound. Then they interview Pablo Hidalgo who gives them some Celebration advice and talks about why he isn’t hosting this time. The episode ends with a special “Billy Dee Quote of the Week” featuring Robot Chicken’s Bitch Pudding episode.

Episode 8.15.2014 is a tribute to Robin Williams as the hosts talk about the actor, his ties to Star Wars, and his impact on comedy. They also have some audio clips from an interview he did with George Lucas that’s pretty cool to listen to. It even leads to a Howard the Duck discussion. They also finish off their recap of their west coast Star Wars trip, their visit to Rancho-Obi Wan, and they talk with Steve Sansweet. Good episode all around.

Attack of the Clone Commentary with Sam Witwer continues their fun discussion of the films and the entertainer insights from Sam, Jimmy and Jason. They talk about Anakin and Padme’s creepy love, the Kaminoan’s nod to Area 51, homages to American Graffiti, cut scenes that could have improved Padme’s storyline, and more.

Star Wars Bookworms: Episode #28 has a great interview with author Adam Bray. They talk about his book Star Wars: What Makes a Monster?, his world travels, sightseeing in New Zealand and checking out the Lord of the Rings filming locations, how the Star Wars Rebels Visual Guide project came about, his research for the book, interviewing Dave Filoni, and more. If you’ve already listened to Rebels Report’s interview with Adam Bray, this interview does a great job of avoiding the previously asked questions. There’s not much overlap and Adam talks about a lot of stuff he didn’t mention before.

Star Wars Oxygen: Volume 9 wraps up their discussion of the music of The Empire Strikes Back. They cover unused scores for Yoda, the mynock scene, Cloud City, the lightsaber fight and a different version of the end sequence. Excellent discussion as always with lots of sound clips.

Star Wars Report: Episode #139 features special guest Pete Morrison (Rebels Report) as he and Riley talk about Star Wars Rebels, the pilot episode (which Pete was able to see at SDCC), San Diego Comic Con 2014, and they end the show with a Guardians of the Galaxy discussion.

Episode #140 focuses on Dragon Con. Riley and Bethany talk with Dragon Con’s Star Wars track director Brandy Roatsey as they discuss what will be happening at this year’s Dragon Con and what’s involved in being the track director for the Star Wars content. It’s an interesting episode.

Tosche Station Radio: Episode #90 covers a wide variety of topics. They touch on the newly announced Marvel Star Wars titles, they review The LEGO Movie, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Guardians of the Galaxy (and they do dive into spoilers). They talk about Star Wars Rebels, criticism from fans regarding the new Star Wars canon, the Disney parks, and more.
