  • Jason Fry‘s next book is up for pre-order on Amazon, The Jupiter Pirates: Curse of the Iris.
  • Jedi News spotted a new book for Star Wars collectors called The Ultimate Guide to Vintage Star Wars Action Figures, 1977-1985.
  • Martha Wells‘ story “Rites of Passage” is now available online for free on her site.

Convention & Event News

  • Disney Stores will be holding Star Wars Day festivities on May 4th. First 100 customers in the store get a Star Wars pin, there will be “Ways of the Force” activities for kids, the launch of exclusive Star Wars merchandise and more. has a copy of the PDF with all the details.
  • Dark Horse is giving away iPads this weekend along with digital comics. Click here for the details.
  • WonderCon came with some Star Wars Rebels news. release a clip of Star Wars Rebels featuring Hera.

Rebels Report also recorded some really nice audio of the entire Star Wars Rebels panel at WonderCon.

Magazine News

  • Star Wars Books shared an early picture for “Blade Squadron” by artist Chris Trevas. “Blade Squadron” is a two part story that will be appearing in Star Wars Insider magazine. Written by David J. Williams and Mark S. Williams, with illustrations by Chris Trevas, “Blade Squadron” part one will debut in Star Wars Insider #149.


Movie & Television News

  • Alan Horn revealed a few more details about Star Wars Episode VII, this time via Brent Lang (Variety film reporter) at the Tribeca Film Festival. Second unit shooting is happening in Abu Dhabi, May debut for the film is still a possibility, and the budget is around 175-200 million.
  • Peter Mayhew has cancelled another convention appearance, this time for Niagara Falls Comic Con. According to them, “Due to a Star Wars filming scheduling conflict, unfortunately, Peter Mayhew will not make it down to Niagara Falls Comic Con this year. We’re sorry folks, but Disney has cast all Star Wars alumni in the new film.”
  • Mark this down for you calendars: on May 4th The Yoda Chronicles returns to tv with a new episode.
