Dave Filoni talked with IGN about some of the most important issues in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 6. He touched on Order 66, the Yoda arc and even the significance of the banking clans and Palpatine.

Also in this arc, Palpatine gets the banks all underneath him to fund massive operations like building a Death Star, showing Imperialism take over — because ultimately we had discussed where, at the time Palpatine aligns all of these banks underneath him in the Republic with no oversight, that’s basically when the Empire is really formed. Everything after that becomes a matter of just toppling certain dominoes that are in his way, but once he has that kind of power, he’s pretty unstoppable to do what he wants. So it’s actually a really important story arc in the whole scope of Star Wars, and I know a lot of fans want the whole mythic aspect of the dark versus light, and we had sufficient note of that with the whole Yoda arc, so I thought that doing this other arc, which was very important to George, about how these politics that we see in the Prequels, how they all line up in the end, turned out to be a pretty exciting arc. Plus, I got Embo in there. I added a big snow chase just to keep the kids awake if the whole banking thing wasn’t working out for them, because I know it’s a challenge. We try to balance those things these days. But directorially, it was really exciting to tell something that was so different and off the norm for us.
