Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

501st Cast: Episode 79 catches up on what the 501st Legion has been up to, gives a behind the scenes on the shooting of the Star Wars Mythbusters episode, some nice highlights of charities they’ve been able to help recently, and a cool interview with Jimmy Mac delving into the future of Star Wars.

Bombad Radio: Episode 127 has a real treat for Star Wars: The Clone Wars fans as they interview Brent Friedman, one of the writers for the show. They cover the start of his career with Dark Skies, Mortal Kombat and The Twilight Zone. Brent shares some interesting info on IMDB (Internet Movie Database) which I had no idea about. Then they dive into TCW. From working with George Lucas and Dave Filoni, to writing two more seasons that may never see the light of day, there’s a lot for Star Wars fans to enjoy.

Full of Sith: Episode LII features special guest Mark Newbold who talks about the odd and ends of running a Star Wars news site, and dives into a smorgasbord of topics. They cover Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 6, Star Wars Rebels, the possibility of more Star Wars shows on Netflix and more.

RebelForce Radio: Episode 2.14.14 has a bunch of stuff. They talk with “The Raiders Guys”, Eric Zala & Chris Strompolos, a pair of guys who made a Indiana Jones fanfilm when they were kids, got discovered by Eli Roth, and received a personal thanks from Steven Spielberg. Very interesting conversation. In this episode, they also touch on the Netflix announcement for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the new character Kanan in Star Wars Rebels, and Sam Jackson chewing out entertainment reporter over a Superbowl commercial. Lots of good stuff.

The Return of the Jedi Commentary with Sam Witwer is a must listen, even if you aren’t going to queue of the movie. Sam brings some awesome insights into the film, shares some chillingly familiar lines in the voice of the Emperor, and tops things off with a hilarious impersonation of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Rebels Report: Episode #5 covers Kanan the cowboy Jedi from Star Wars Rebels. They get into an analysis of the character, design aspects, influences, and some commentary on Freddie Prinze Jr. doing the voice. There’s also audio from the Kanan character reveal video. Overall, great discussion that’s both informative and entertaining.

Star Wars Action News: Episode 416 has full coverage for Hasbro’s Star Wars presence at Toy Fair. They talk Star Wars Command (army men for Star Wars), The Black Series (3 3/4″ and 6″), and possible SDCC exclusives. Plus they provide the audio for the Star Wars portion of Hasbro’s panel. Great episode to listen to for toy news.

Star Wars Influences: Episode 5 takes a break from the comic influences of Star Wars, and jumps to Paul’s wild wish for a reboot of Boba Fett which might very well be under consideration. Paul and Jimmy go into depth about returning the mystery to Boba Fett. Afterwards they break into some general conversation on the future of Star Wars.
