Here at Roqoo Depot, we are counting down the days to the release of Ewoks: Shadows of Endor. Written and drawn by Zack Giallongo with colors by Braden Lamb, this trade paperback comic leads directly in the events of Return of the Jedi and ties into the Ewoks television movies and series. To help get readers in the mood, we’ll be doing an Ewok of the day each day until the comic’s release. Today we’re highlighting Widdle.
Widdle is Wicket’s older brother and the black sheep of the family. He often challenges his older brother Weechee, and is prone to accidents. During the battle of Endor, he was one of the Ewoks who captured an AT-ST along with the mighty Chewbacca and Wunka. That AT-ST helped turned the tide of the battle and secured the Ewok’s victory over the Empire.
Widdle appeared in Return of the Jedi and both of the Ewok television movies–Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure (1984), and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1986). He went on to appear in the children’s book The Ewok Who Was Afraid: An Ewok Adventure, and numerous episodes of the Ewoks television show.
Ewoks: Shadows of Endor will be out on October 9, 2013.
