‘The Scorched Earth’ Update
October 31, 2013 at 6:33 pm | Posted in Books, Fantasy, scifi/fantasy | 1 CommentTags: drew karpyshyn, the chaos born, the scorched earth
The second book in Drew Karpyshyn’s The Chaos Born Trilogy now has a cover and a tentative release date. The Scorched Earth is currently set to come out on July 15, 2014 in hardcover. Amazon also has it up for pre-order if you’re inclined. According to Drew, the woman on the cover is a new character named Shalana (Shuh-lay-nuh).
“I won’t reveal too much about her right now, except to say that she’s a member of the Clans in the Frozen East. As you might suspect from the cover art, she plays a very prominent role in book 2, and much of the action takes place in Norr’s former homeland.
I’m very excited for The Scorched Earth to come out. All the pieces of the story I’ve been setting up through Children of Fire really start to come together, and I can’t wait to see how readers react. My editors are looking over the manuscript, and once we finalize it I’ll be jumping into the final book in the trilogy, Chaos Unleashed.” -Drew Karpyhsyn

Full of Sith: Episode XL has host Bryan Young and features guest Bobbie Roberts for the latest episode of rumor control. Bryan and Bobbie cover the news of Kasdan and Abrams taking over the script, other rumors on why Arndt is no longer attached to the project, and what that could mean. Pretty good discussion on the subject and the best I’ve seen so far. They also touch on the Droid Edit clips of rare Return of the Jedi footage which is on Facebook.
Galaxy of Toys: Episode 17 features special guest Jimmy Mac as they go back in time to review the classic Kenner Star Wars figures. In this episode they cover wave two (Greedo, Hammerhead, Red Snaggletooth, Walrus Man, X-Wing Pilot/Luke, R5-D4, Death Star Droid, Power Droid and Boba Fett) which includes childhood memories, what they think of the figures now, and overall, an insightful look at Star Wars collecting.
