Here at Roqoo Depot, we are counting down the days to the release of Ewoks: Shadows of Endor. Written and drawn by Zack Giallongo with colors by Braden Lamb, this trade paperback comic leads directly in the events of Return of the Jedi and ties into the Ewoks television movies and series. To help get readers in the mood, we’ll be doing an Ewok of the day each day until the comic’s release. Today we’re highlighting Teebo.

Teebo studied as a medicine man under the tutilege of Master Logray. Easy to spot by his trademark hat, a gurreck skull adorned with churi feathers, he was known as a poet and a watcher of the stars. His family consisted of his father Warok, his mother Batcheela, and his sister Malani. Later in life, Teebo developed a relationship with Latara.

Teebo appeared in Return of the Jedi and has a memorable scene where R2-D2 zaps him. He appeared in many of the episodes of the Ewoks televison series and the Ewoks comics, as well several children’s books: Three Cheers for Kneesa!: An Ewok Adventure, The Adventures of Teebo: A Tale of Magic and Suspense, Fuzzy as an Ewok, and The Ewoks Join the Fight. In ROTJ, he was played by Jack Purvis, who also played Kitik Keed’kak, Gonk, Chief Ugnaught and one of the main Jawas in the films. In the Ewoks tv show, he was voiced by Eric Peterson (season one) and James Cranna (season two). James Cranna actually played Widdle Warrick in Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, was an announcer in THX-1138 and played the liquor store thief in American Graffiti.

Ewoks: Shadows of Endor will be out on October 9, 2013.
