Hollywood.com Interviews the Kenobi’s

Hollywood.com has posted an interview with Kenobi author John Jackson Miller and Kenobi voice actor James Arnold Taylor.
James, at the start of the novel what would you say is Obi-Wan’s mindset?
James Arnold Taylor: One of the things that’s been so great for me in playing this mythical character for so many years is that throughout the series of The Clone Wars I had to put myself in the mindset of “He does not know what’s going to happen.” He does not know that Anakin’s going to fall, and in Kenobi he actually thinks that Anakin is dead. His belief is that Anakin’s gone, and he did what he had to do. Even though I haven’t voiced him much after the events of Revenge of the Sith, it goes so much deeper than I think most people think.

‘Razor’s Edge’ Micro-Excerpt #3
September 12, 2013 at 10:54 am | Posted in Books, Star Wars, Star Wars Books | Leave a commentTags: empire and rebellion, martha wells, razor's edge
Star Wars Books has posted micro-excerpt #3 for Empire and Rebellion: Razor’s Edge.
“I’m sorry. I just didn’t think—I assumed—”
“That I was a figurehead? A symbol?” Leia said. She got that a lot, and it wasn’t as if Mon Mothma and other members of the Alliance High Command hadn’t tried to make it clear that that was how they preferred it. Leia knew that being a symbol was part of her duty to the Alliance, but she wasn’t sure Mothma and the others really understood what they were asking of her. Unlike living, breathing people, fi gureheads were made of stone and incapable of mistakes; Leia wasn’t certain how long she could bear that weight.
Empire and Rebellion: Razor’s Edge by Martha Wells will be out on September 24 in hardcover, digital and audiobook formats. You can find product links here on Random House’s official page, as well as a 50 page preview.

Update on ‘The Essential Characters’
September 12, 2013 at 10:00 am | Posted in Books, Star Wars, Star Wars Books | Leave a commentTags: daniel wallace, doug wheatley
According to Edelweiss, Star Wars: The Essential Characters is getting pushed back…way back…to March 1, 2016. The book, written by Daniel Wallace and illustrated by Doug Wheately, was set for an April 15, 2014 release. There hasn’t been much promotion of the book as of late, which is understandable considering the situation with Disney and Episode VII.
The large jump in the release could indicate that the publishing arm wants to delay the book in order to include characters from the new sequel films. If so, the content of the book could be getting a drastic change from the previously planned content. If they do add new characters, it’s unknown as of yet whether Doug Wheatley will be handling the additions or if a new artist will be brought in. Either way, there’s a lot up in the air with the release change.

‘Star Wars Rebels’ and Disney Publishing
September 12, 2013 at 8:42 am | Posted in Books, Disney, Star Wars Rebels, Television | Leave a commentAs reported by Knights Archive, Star Wars Rebels now has some book release info. According to edelweiss, there are three juvenile books in the works.

Star Wars: Rebels Early Reader #2 (Level 2)

All three books are being put out by Disney Press which is a member of Disney Book Group which in turn handles the bulk of their book publishing. Disney Press tends to focus on young reader material for both children and young teens. It’s worth noting that Scholastic and DK usually cover all of the young reader Star Wars material, so it’s unclear what this means. It could signify that Disney will be taking over that area of the Star Wars book market, or that Disney will simply be handling the Star Wars Rebels material, or even the possibility that Disney is simply joining the others and adding to rather than taking away. For the moment, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Podcasts in Review
September 12, 2013 at 8:11 am | Posted in Podcasts, Podcasts in Review, Regular Feature, Star Wars | Leave a commentBombad Radio: Episode 87 includes an interview with Simon Wilkie who talks about cosplaying as C-3PO. Simon was a pretty interesting guest making it a fun episode to listen to. He had some neat stories about making the costume and some of the celebrity encounters he’s had.
Episode 88 has a nice interview with Nick Joseph, the medal bearer from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Nick talks about being onset and interacting with the other actors, as well as his work on the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, and Doctor Who. Aside from films, Nick talked about his other passions: Formula 3 racing and marathons. All in all, a cool episode to check out.
