Art News
- Dave Dorman has a new sketchbook for sale which includes various sketches including some Star Wars ones.
- Joe Corroney is offering copies of The Slave Princess print signed by Boba Fett himself, Jeremy Bulloch, for serious collectors only. Click here to check out the details.
- Jedi News posted a nice interview with Celebration artist Doug Cowan which you can read here.
- Jan Duursema has a new website up you can check out.
Book News
- Paul S. Kemp has posted the fifth excerpt of his upcoming book The Godborn which will be out October 1st.
- Paul also revealed that his outline for A Conversation in Blood has been approved.
- Bombad Radio is back from their break with an interview with R.A. Salvatore and his latest book The Companions.
- Lastly in book news, Ryder Windham mentioned on Facebook that he, Chris Reiff and Chris Trevas will be sending a signed copy of the Death Star Owner’s Technical Manual to President Obama. While this most likely won’t save the Build a Death Star project, it’s still pretty cool.
Comic News
- CBR has a six page preview of Dark Times: A Spark Remains #2.
- Zack Giallongo did an interview with Newsarama discussing his upcoming comic Ewoks – Shadows of Endor.
Convention News
- D23 Expo kicks off today and runs all weekend. The Star Wars panels will be Saturday. You can check out all the info on their official site.
- Wizard World Chicago also kicks off this weekend. Star Wars artist Dave Dorman will be there.
- If you’re heading to Dragoncon, be sure to check out author Aaron Allston‘s con schedule.
Fandom News
- Pete over on Lightsaber Rattling wrote up a nice article on the Lucasfilm story group. Be sure to check it out here.
- Rich Handley & Abel G. Peña have a nice writeup on the Star Wars Blog about alien henchman under Palpatine’s regime.
- Sandtroopers posted a nice Youtube interview with Jet Lucas.
Movie and Television News
- The 22 minute fan film Star Wars Smuggler’s Run by Oliver Thompson is now online.
- The online hit Star Wars filibuster by Patton Oswalt is now animated thanks to Nerdist.
- ABC is in talks with Lucasfilm about bringing Star Wars to tv according to IGN. Whether or not we’ll actually see a tv show out of this, we’ll just have to wait and see.
- In other news, Sylvester Stallone tweeted that Bruce Willis will not be in Expendables 3…but Harrison Ford will! I liked the first two films and I’m pretty excited about the news. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Harrison Ford as an action hero. Expendables 3 is set to come out next August and will include the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham and Mickey Rourke with the addition of Wesley Snipes.
