‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Heads to Toonami

Earlier today, Toonami posted on tumblr that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be replacing Eureka 7 on August 17th. According to them, they will not be showing all the episodes, and they will “generally run in order.”

On August 17th, Eureka 7 will be going away, never to return. We’ll be sorry to see it go. Replacing it will be STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, which we’re very happy about because we always felt it was a Toonami show. FYI: We’ll be skipping some of the non-continuity (read: Jar Jar) eps, but they’ll generally run in order. AMERICAN CARTOONS BELONG ON TOONAMI!  xoxoxoxo -Toonami

They also commented that we should get a new schedule in the next few weeks and that there are no current plans for them airing the bonus content, but they did say “we’ll see.” Further note, they are planning on airing four seasons and not the entire five, at least not yet.

Toonami is Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim block of programming which runs later at night and is geared toward adult audiences. For Clone Wars fans, this will give you another shot at seeing them on tv, and perhaps we’ll get to see some of the cut out parts (like Ventress kissing the clone before killing him and the beheading of the Black Sun vigos).

Note Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be airing in the [adult swim] block on Saturdays at 3:00 AM Eastern.

All Wings Report In, the official podcast of the Rebel Legion, has a really nice interview with author John Jackson Miller. John was recently inducted into the Rebel Legion at San Diego Comic Con 2013, and he jokes around about joining the Mandalorian Mercs next for a trifecta. He talks about recruiting a Tusken Raider at SDCC to threaten con goers, a wild traffic jam he and Michael S. Stackpole witnessed involving a train, a fire truck, cops and a cosplayer with wings. John also talks about how he ended up working for Dark Horse Comics, how Knights of the Old Republic came about, when KOTOR will come back, tabletop gaming, developing the Lost Tribe of the Sith, how art can sometimes inspire the story, the origin of Kenobi and how it got put off. Like other authors recently, John emphasized that future Star Wars projects are on a wait and see basis, but he is doing stuff other than Star Wars (Simpsons, Conan, Star Trek, Overdraft: The Orion Offensive). The interview covers a whole lot more, and combined with the good audio quality, this is definitely one worth checking out.

Tom Taylor’s DC Comic series is still going with this week’s Injustice: Gods Among Us #7. With Shazam on the cover, can this issue step things up a notch? Hopefully, the answer is yes.

The tragic death of one of their own has further divided the heroes. Friendships fracture as paths are chosen. The citizens of Earth, too, are divided in their feelings on the heroes’ new, proactive roles, and Billy Batson wants to hear what they have to say. Meanwhile, a signal from Metropolis proves that someone—or something—has survived.

Writer: Tom Taylor
Artists: Jheremy Raapack, Mike S. Miller and Kevin Maguire
Cover Artist: Mico Suayan
