The Times BFI London Film Festival: Chloe - PhotocallThe Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Julianne Moore (The Lost World: Jurassic Park, The Hours, Game Change) is in talks to appear in the two part adaptation of The Hunger GamesMockingjay, written by Suzanne Collins. The films will be directed by I Am Legend‘s Francis Lawrence, and written by Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Danny Strong.

So far Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donal Sutherland, Sam Claflin, and Philip Seymour Hoffman are already on board. Julianne Moore will be playing District 13 President Alma Coin, who, throughout the book, plays as both the resistance leader against the Capitol, yet a tyrant in her own right. I for one am very excited about Moore’s potential casting in the film, I think she’d make a wonderful Coin.

The Hunger Games- Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2 and due out on November 21st 2014 and November 20th, 2015.
