The hosts are mostly Irish Star Wars fans with one American Star Wars fan, which makes for some interesting discussion.
ForceCast: Episode 256 has Star Wars artist Spencer Brinkerhoff III on as a fill-in host since Eric Blythe is out for the week. I have to say, I really like Spencer as a host, thus I found myself giving this episode a try and it was a good thing I did because Spencer did an interview with fellow Star Wars artist Ken Lashley which was really great. I’d recommend this episode on that interview alone as Ken talks about some con stories, racing down the highway with Star Wars artist Joe Corroney, and turning his car into a Star Wars car. Host Eric Geller also interviews Spencer to discuss his Star Wars Celebration Europe II art print and the prints he’s done in the past.
Full of Sith: Episode XXVI includes an interview with actor and now comic creator, Orlando Jones who talks about Star Wars and his new project, Tainted Love. Consetta is back for this episode and the team has Bobbie Roberts on for rumor control. Note that Bobbie talks about Star Trek Into Darkness so be wary of spoilers. Nice episode all around.
They also released a special interview episode with Kevin Kiner, the composer for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Whether you like music or not, this is an interview worth checking out for TCW fans because Kevin talks about the show, how composing each show took about two weeks, working with George Lucas and Dave Filoni, how the Order 66 type episode we caught a glimpse of dives into the heads of the clones, and he lets drop that they’re working on ten episodes of the bonus content. Kevin goes on to express his interest in working on Star Wars: Rebels. One fun piece of trivia he mentioned that I’ve never heard before is that at one time, George actually wrote half of the story for A New Hope in Japanese because of his love for Japanese cinema.
Rebel Force Radio: the June 7, 2013 Episode covers the latest Star Wars news, as usual. They also dive into a discussion of Star Wars Insider with editor Jonathan Wilkins who talks about the current issue and the next one, which will have special guest editor Warwick Davis. This episode also covers LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles and a nice interview with Star Wars artist Jeff Carlisle from C2E2.
Secrets of Star Wars: Episode 001 is a brand new Star Wars podcast hosted by Domenico Bettinelli and Fr. Roderick. It’s actually a very professional sounding podcast with great audio quality. The hosts are pretty good and easy to listen to. They keep the discussion moving without beating a topic to death. Their focus is the movies so they’re covering everything related to Star Wars Episode VII. It’s worth noting, however, that they do have a lot of criticisms regarding the prequels.
Star Wars Action News: Episode 395 kicks off with a rant against Hasbro’s Angry Birds Star Wars San Diego Comic Con exclusive. After that, they bring up a very important piece of info I was unaware of, the VAT tax. For anyone who is heading to Star Wars Celebration Europe II, it’s a discussion worth hearing as the VAT tax is something you’ll have to deal with and there is a way to get a tax break, which they talk about. Also in the episode, they talk about Yoda News pics of Hasbro’s Black Series, Jedi Temple Archives Wal-Mart scoop of possible figures coming from Hasbro, and more.
