Whedon Confirms Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in Avengers 2

Speaking to IGN at ABC’s Upfront this week, Joss Whedon confirmed that the mutant siblings, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, are indeed in Avengers.
“You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.”
Not sure what that “rough beginnings” statement means, but could be alluding to the brother sister duo’s origins being tied up with Magneto which is the part of the Marvel verse owned by Fox. If that’s the case, then it appears something was worked out to everyone’s satisfaction.
That may not be the case with all of the Avengers. Ign further reports that several of the original cast may be replaced due to contract differences.

Where to start, well, Dave Filoni is back at it with the TIE fighters. Some sites think this could be research for a new television series, however we have it on good authority that this is simply the first in a new series of toys from Hasbro. Expect to see Filoni fighters on toy shelves early next year. Continue Reading Around the Web…

New Excerpt for ‘The Godborn’

Author Paul S. Kemp has posted a new excerpt for his upcoming Forgotten Realms novel The Godborn.
Telemont leaned on his magical staff and looked out the glassteel window of his tower library. The shadow-fogged air allowed only filtered starlight through its canopy, but Telemont could see well enough. The city of Shade extended before him, the dense jumble of its towers and domes and tiled roofs blanketed in night. It was his city, and he’d fought and schemed for centuries to preserve it and its people, along the way compromising . . . many things.
“Something’s changed, Hadrhune,” he said. “The world shifts under my feet.”

This is actually a pretty cool episode that generates some interesting discussion. If Full of Sith has Lucas on again, I’d definitely check it out.
Episode XXII is their weekly rumor control podcast with Bobby Roberts. Consetta is back for this episode and they cover a few Episode VII rumors as well as some more general discussion.
They also did a special May the 4th Be With You episode with just Mike Pilot and Travis live from a comic book store (it was also Free Comic Book Day). This one was kind of special for a couple reasons. For starters, they discussed the wild possibility of a dark side Yoda which was pretty entertaining. Secondly, Mike cracked me up as he interrupted the podcast to order a hotdog and congratulate Travis on making such a good hotdog. Live episodes can be unexpectedly funny.
