In book and comic news, goodreads has a giveaway for Paul S. Kemp‘s upcoming novel A Discourse in Steel.

Comic Book Resources interviewed Gabriel Hardman on his upcoming comic Kinski.

Some toy news came out this week. USA Today revealed a San Diego Comic Con exclusive from Hasbro: a Star Wars Black Series Boba Fett and Han in carbonite.

Disney’s Star Wars-D-Tech Me experience is returning to Star Wars Weekends. Fans can get frozen in carbonite versions of themselves or stormtrooper versions which look really cool.

In other news, A Slice of SciFi has posted part two of their interview with Star Wars artist Dave Dorman (you can watch part one here).

There’s also been a disturbance in the Pith. Pith Lords Ryder Windham and Randy Stradley have been usurped by a Bowler Lord. No word yet on whether there will be retaliation or celebration for this shocking development.

In movie news, JJ Abrams did a couple interviews with BBC News and The New York Times, Simon Kinberg weighed in with Los Angeles Times and producer Brian Burk spoke with Collider, revealing that filming should begin early next year.

Mark Hamill did some Q&A at the airing of Return of the Jedi at the Egyptian Theater. StarWars.com had some good coverage of the event.

Winners of the Behind the Voice Actors Awards have been announced. James Arnold Taylor won both Staff Choice and People’s Choice for best male lead vocal performance in a television series for his work as Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Clone Wars. Ashley Eckstein won People’s Choice for best female lead vocal performance in a television series for her work as Ahsoka in The Clone Wars. Corey Burton won Staff Choice for best male vocal performance in a television series in a supporting role for his role as Cade Bane in The Clone Wars. Nika Futterman won Staff Choice and People’s Choice for best female vocal performance in a television series in a supporting role for her role as Asajj Ventress in The Clone Wars. David Tennant won People’s Choice for best male vocal performance in a television series in a guest role for his role as Huyang in The Clone Wars. The Clone Wars also won People’s Choice for best vocal ensemble in a television series. Out of the 14 categories and 28 awards, TCW picked up 6 categories and 8 of the awards.

Last but not least, a movie trailer for Ender’s Game has been revealed.
