The Weekly Crisis posted an interview with comic writer John Ostrander. The interview covers the Agent of the Empire series, Dawn of the Jedi, Legacy and more. I particularly liked John’s comments about forcesabers.

“For example, it was a given that the hyperspace drive that later ships – such as the Millennium Falcon – used originated with the Rakatan hyperdrive that used the Force as a power source. Extrapolating from that, we asked how lightsabers were developed and came up with Rakatan “forcesabers” which were forerunners in terms of the overall technology but used the Force itself as a power source. We thought that since a forcesaber would be an aggressive weapon, it would pull on the dark side as its power source. All of which seemed to make sense to LFL as well as us.” -John Ostrander

James S.A. Corey (aka Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham) is signed up to write a Han Solo novel as part of the Rebels series. Both writers are new to Star Wars. What will they be like? Well, they might be new to Star Wars, but they’re definitely not new to science fiction. Leviathan Wakes is a sci-fi novel populated with deep characters and a rich storyline. It’s a captivating tale that’s definitely worth checking out. Click here to read our full review.
