First New Star Wars Book of 2013?

We don’t know what it’s called. We don’t know who will be in it. We don’t know what era it is, what it is about, or if it is even a hardcover or a paperback. BUT we know it’s Star Wars, and that’s what counts, right?

According to Frank Parisi at Del Rey:

“Lucasfilm just approved the cover art for a soon-to-be announced STAR WARS novel.”

Jedi News followed up with Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss for the following update:

“It’s a new book we haven’t spoken of publicly yet. All I can say. Wish I could tell you more. We’re excited about it.”

TheForce.Net also spoke with Erich:

“…we’re going to reveal a book you had no idea existed.”

And Star Wars Books also posted the following on their Facebook page:

“This is a new book we haven’t spoken of publicly yet and will most likely be announcing in the coming weeks. I mention this because I encourage you to follow us on Twitter as well at @DelReyStarWars.”

So we’re just a couple weeks away from hopefully learning about this mysterious new Star Wars book. Don’t worry, we won’t get your hopes up by mentioning names like James Luceno or that rumored possibility of a Matthew Stover Republic Commando book. Err…well, seriously, keep your hopes low, and get ready to smile big once the news hits the fan.

  1. I hope it’s either the Skywalker family adventure with Luke,Mara and Ben by Tim Zahn or a Ben Skywalker/Thrawn clone team up book set in the Unknown Regions by Tim Zahn.
