LFL Confirms AOTC and ROTS 3D Release Dates
November 30, 2012 at 4:34 pm | Posted in Movies, Star Wars | Leave a commentTags: attack of the clones, Revenge of the Sith
According to The Official Site, the release dates are as follows:
Attack of the Clones: Sept. 20, 2013
Revenge of the Sith: Oct. 4, 2013
Yep, they’re being released two weeks apart. Not sure what the reasoning behind that is, unless they want to get them out before the holiday season movie rush. It’s a safe bet the Original Trilogy will be released in 2014 in anticipation of Episode VII.

Around the Web
November 30, 2012 at 12:44 pm | Posted in Around the Web, Art, Books, Charity, Fantasy, Humor, Regular Feature, Sci-Fi, Star Wars, Star Wars Books | Leave a commentTags: brian rood, fatal alliance, iron druid chronicles, kevin hearne, kevin j. anderson, sean williams, the force unleashed II
Topping off the headlines this week is Star Wars artist Brian Rood who appeared on his local news station WTOL11. You can watch the clip here. The three minute clip shows off some of Brian’s artwork, as well as a rare behind the scenes look at how he does it. We’re fairly certain the secret to his success is combination of water colors and Ewok’s blood. Yub yub.
Not to be out done, forthcoming Star Wars author Kevin Hearne will be livestreaming a book signing this Sunday at The Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale, Arizona. Kevin will be signing his new book Trapped as well as participating in a Q&A. Fans will have an opportunity to ask their own questions via the livestream, or if you’re in the area, you can ask him in person.
In book news, you can enter for a chance to win a complete, autographed set of Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid Chronicles via Patrick Rothfuss’ Worldbuilders charity. For each $10 donation, you get one entry and all the money goes to a good cause. Other authors involved in the charity include Star Wars author Sean Williams who has donated signed copies of Fatal Alliance, The Force Unleashed II, Metal Fatigue, and The Resurrected Man. However, if you’ve got deep pockets, you can check out the Worldbuilder’s eBay auction for Kevin Hearne’s autographed set (which includes special illustrations by the author) and Sean William’s auction.
The second omnibus of Daniel Abraham‘s Long Price Quartet came out this week. Dan has the full breakdown on his blog with links to both the first and second omnibus. Keep in mind that Daniel Abraham will be one of the writers in the upcoming Rebels series. He and fellow author Ty Franck will be writing the Han Solo novel under the pen name James S.A. Corey. As we understand it, the S.A. stands for Solo’s Awesome.
Meanwhile sci-fi author Kevin J. Anderson has climbed 54 mountains and 400 miles of wilderness trails in his search for Yoda. Unfortunately he was unsuccessful, but he was able to recoup the loss with a trail calendar. While there are no Yoda sightings in the calendar, we’re sure the search for Yoda will continue.

New Fiction From Allston on the Horizon
November 29, 2012 at 11:19 am | Posted in Books, Conventions, Sci-Fi | Leave a commentTags: aaron allston, lonestarcon, origins game fair, rayguns over texas, time-traveled tales
Aaron Allston posted a new blog update today with info on a couple of short stories he’s completed. Unfortunately both anthologies will be a bit hard to obtain. First up is “Defenders of Beeman County” which will be included in the Rayguns Over Texas sci-fi anthology which will be sold at LoneStarCon 3 in San Antonio, Texas in 2013. The anthology will have 20 short stories all done by authors in Texas. Editor Richard Klaw has posted some of the featured authors and their stories here.
The second story is “Green Room”, a superhero story set in the Strike Force universe. It’s set to be a part of the Time-Traveled Tales follow up anthology at Origins Game Fair. According to Allston this “is the first story I’ve written in which most of the narrative consists of two old men sitting in recliners arguing with one another. No, really.”
If you’re a die hard Allston fan, then good luck in tracking down these two anthologies when they come out.

New ‘A Discourse In Steel’ Excerpt
November 28, 2012 at 1:42 pm | Posted in Books, Fantasy | Leave a commentTags: a discourse in steel, angry robot books, paul s. kemp, tales of egil and nix
Paul S. Kemp has posted an excerpt from his upcoming Egil and Nix novel A Discourse In Steel. Features some wonderful dialog from his colorful characters.
Paul S. Kemp: A bit of Egil and Nix from A DISCOURSE IN STEEL, the follow up to THE HAMMER AND THE BLADE. Unedited, of course. Forgive any awkwardness or typos.
“Smells like wet dog,” Nix said, just to say something.
“Bah,” Egil said, and raised his hammers as if he could smite the offending stink with them. “It smells like a diseased dog that bathed in the Deadmire and then rolled in its own shite. I’d breathe deep the smell of a merely wet dog.” Continue Reading New ‘A Discourse In Steel’ Excerpt…
