Suvudu posted a short interview with upcoming Star Wars author Kevin Hearne. Kevin will be writing a Luke Skywalker novel for the new Rebels series.

Tell fantasy and “Star Wars” fans the big news.

Kevin Hearne: Del Rey noticed that I’m kind of a “Star Wars” nut and asked me if I’d like to write a book for them focusing on Luke Skywalker, set betwixt Episode IV and V. Well, I was seven when the first movie came out and I grew up with this stuff. I couldn’t say no—I mean, I was playing with the original action figures and making up new adventures all the time. I’m talkin’ “PEW! PEW! PEW!” and “I can’t shake him!” and “Copy Gold Leader!” and attempting to sound like James Earl Jones when I hadn’t even reached puberty yet. So yeah, I’m thrilled to be on board and my nerd cred has skyrocketed amongst my friends.

Kevin also answered a few questions on his Facebook page which might interest fans.

I didn’t see the questions Mr. Speakman was referring to so forgive me, but I’d like to know if this will be written in first or third person?

KH: Third person.

When would the book be coming out or is it still way to early for that?

KH: A bit early. :)

My only question is since you got the news have you been able to get the theme song out of your head or do you find your self humming it alot when your not cranking some Dio?

KH: It’s actually that mournful French horn solo that keeps coming back, not the Main Theme. Weird. :)
