Star Wars Books posted a picture of the upcoming paperback version of Conviction, and as they’ve been doing recently, they teased us with some images from The Essential Reader’s Companion in the background.
I’m pretty sure the artwork is some of the character portraits that artist Brian Rood has been doing…or should I say ‘done.’
“Star Wars: The Essential Readers Companion is finished! At least my portion is, now the editors have their work cut out for them assembling the huge collection of artwork we have all been sending them for the past couple of months! From what I have seen from the other guys working on this gig, the book is going to be really cool looking. Some of the best art I have seen in awhile! Congrats to everyone involved in the project! Now all the last minute preparations and printing for Celebration!!!!!!!” -Brian Rood
Brian has been pretty busy in the Star Wars galaxy. You can check out his Facebook page just to see all the projects he’s been working on. According to Brian, he worked on nearly 50 character illustrations for The Essential Reader’s Companion. Looks like they turned out pretty nice.
By the way, the paperback version of Conviction by Aaron Allston will be out on August 28th.
UPDATE: DelReyStarWars also posted a really cool studio shot by Brian Rood showing a bunch of his illustrations for The Essential Reader’s Companion.
