The Founding Fields posted an interview with author Paul S. Kemp touching upon his upcoming book The Hammer and the Blade.

Can you tell us a bit about your upcoming fantasy novel The Hammer and the Blade, published by Angry Robot Books?

PSK: Sure. The Hammer and the Blade is a sword and sorcery novel featuring a pair of likeable rakes named Egil and Nix. It’s fast paced with (what I think are) enormously compelling characters. And it’s a helluva lot of fun.

Inside A Dog is a site geared toward teen readers and is designed to connect them with reviews, writers, and more. The name is a play on a Groucho Marx line “Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend. Inside a dog, it’s too dark to read.” Last Friday, comic writer Tom Taylor joined the ranks of their residence blog with a post introducing readers to his work, and inviting them to post questions. So, if you have a question for Tom, or don’t have a clue who he is, head on over and find out.

Tosche Station’s coverage of Origins Game Fair included this tidbit from Q&A panel with Aaron Allston…

“He also completed a short story called “Big Plush” for a military anthology that also features Kevin J. Anderson and Mike Stackpole. Should appear in ebook form sometime within the next two months.”

That military anthology being Five By. Last week Allston revealed the cover, and now we have a rough estimate of when the anthology will be coming out. As always, we’ll keep you updated as we find out more.
