Jedi Journals interviewed Tom Taylor for the release of his new Star Wars comic this week: Boba Fett is Dead #1. Tom talks about all his comics both Star Wars and non-Star Wars, his work process as a comic writer, and of course Darth Maul: Death Sentence.
You had the opportunity to write several characters from the films (Luke [at two points in his life], Vader, Boba & Jango, Maul); which of these characters is the most challenging to write? Is there one that you “get” the most? Who’s your favorite original character you’ve created?
Tom Taylor: Maul is probably the most challenging, simply because he’s undergone this incredible transformation since we first saw him many years ago. His character has been changed completely and it’s a little difficult to roll with that. Having said that, I’m having a great time writing him, and I think Darth Maul: Death Sentence is going to be a great read.
