Chaos Theory – Or – How it all connects
April 6, 2012 at 2:50 pm | Posted in Comic Books, Speculation, Star Wars Books, The Clone Wars | 3 CommentsSo you’ve finished up Troy Denning’s amazing Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse and you’re left wondering how in the world will we ever get to the Legacy comics now? So many new possibilities were opened up by the finale of Fate of the Jedi that one could almost assume that parts of Legacy are no longer canon. In order to answer these burning questions I went back and read all 56 issues of the awesome Star Wars Legacy series, trust me no one had to twist my arm to get that done, and I found a very specific and unique connection between the two series. But it doesn’t stop there; the chaos thread also flows into Dawn of the Jedi and it got me wondering if we’ve seen the last of Abeloth. After the break you can read my Chaos Theory.
‘Hunger Games’ Update: Ross Out as Director for Catching Fire
April 6, 2012 at 1:14 pm | Posted in Movies | Leave a commentTags: Catching Fire, Fox, Gary Ross, Jennifer Lawrence, Lionsgate, Xmen
IndieWire has confirmed that negotiations between Lionsgate and director Gary Ross have broken down, and Ross has bowed out of any sequel directing. However, it isn’t all about the money. Although the low ball figure didn’t help, Ross is not about repeating himself. Besides, after the success of the Hunger Games movie, he’s probably not going to have any issues with finding work.
Still, there’s some good news regarding Catching Fire. Lionsgate and Fox have worked out any scheduling issues so Jennifer Lawrence will be able to shoot both Catching Fire and the Xmen: First Class sequel.
Meanwhile, the Huffington Post has an amusing article on director possibilities for Catching Fire.

I stumbled across this (with some help from Syfy blastr), and I have to admit this is just too cute to pass up. this children’s book (which is absolutely going to delight adults) is a charming view of how it could have been if Vader had raised Luke. Available from Chronical Books on, most appropriately, May 4.
You can also check out more of the book on blastr.

Happy Birthday, Lando, You Old Smoothie
April 6, 2012 at 11:16 am | Posted in Birthday | 2 CommentsTags: billy dee williams, Fanboys, Star wars
Today is Billy Dee Williams’ birthday. Famous for (among other things) playing the dashing Lando Calrissian, Billy will forever be immortalized as a part of Star Wars history. Feel free to stop by Billy’s Twitter page or on Facebook and wish him happy birthday. Or if you want, you can head over to his art site and buy a painting. (What? You didn’t know Lando was a smuggler and a painter?). And if you haven’t caught his turn as Judge Reinhold (love that name) in the Star Wars homage, Fanboys, shame on you. I’m yanking your Star Wars nerd badge.
