Brace yourselves, things get silly in this episode of Tosche Station Radio
Over in Fixer’s Flash, Nanci reveals she finally has a name for her new ride: The Starry Ice. Nerd cred there for naming it after an EU starship! Brian’s knee-deep in Marvel’s Civil War comics, which he’s been warned will make him cry.* He’s also planning on seeing John Carter after the recording, but we’re happy we managed to peel him away from Mass Effect 3 long enough to get an episode in.
*Not that this is anything new.
Deak’s Dirt reminds us that March 10th marked the 15th anniversary of a show both Brian and Nanci adore, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Go launch up Netflix and give it a watch if you haven’t seen it. In Star Wars news, Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse hit shelves on Tuesday bringing the series to a conclusion. Brian gives his general thoughts on the books, but if you’re interested in more (spoiler-filled) details, head on over to check out his review at Roqoo Depot. Finally, it was announced Celebration VI has hosts! Pablo Hidalgo and David Collins will join primary host James Arnold Taylor in leading the festivities
This week’s Camie’s Concerns promises to be absurdly fun as the hosts talk head-canon, fanfiction, and alternate universes. Be forewarned, at one point Brian gets his Lady Gaga on. Sometimes fans have to reconcile bizarre things in fandom, and that’s where head-canon comes into play. Nanci and Brian have theories on how certain things in Star Wars played out. It makes sense in our heads, honest! From there, the hosts talk fanfiction, a topic near and dear to both of them. They briefly discuss a Time Magazine article on the subject before diving into an article written by prolific Expanded Universe author Aaron Alston. Nanci and Brian also talk about the reasons they personally enjoy reading and writing fanfic. Finally, they touch the taboo subject of alternate universes in Star Wars. As it turns out, both hosts have come around to the idea.
In Wormie’s Works, Nanci highlights a fun video project and Brian gushes about a Rogue Squadron themed Tumblr site he loves to pieces and then some. The winner of the FotJ: Apocalypse giveaway is also announced.
Nanci’s pick for fanwork of the week: SGTV
Brian’s pick for fanwork of the week: The Ask Rogue Squadron Tumblr
The FotJ: Apocalypse winner: Anakin and Obi Wan as well as Luke and Han by Fallon Skywalker
