Over on Club Jade, Dunc has posted a fun video of Star Wars The Clone Wars Darth Maul voice actor, Sam Witwer, teaching lightsaber usage to Today Show hosts, Hoda and Kathy Lee.  While Sam is new to voicing Maul, he lent both his voice and his image to the role of Starkiller for The Force Unleashed video games.

You can also catch Sam Witwer on Monday nights as vampire Aidan on Syfy’s Being Human, along with roommate costars Sam Huntington and Meaghan Rath.

Darth Maul will make his appearance on this Friday’s episode of TCW.

‘Lone Ranger’ First Look

A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust and a hearty Hi-Yo Silver! The Lone Ranger! …

What does a sci-fi fan blog have to do with The Lone Ranger?  Nothing.  We just like Johnny Depp, and we’re rather nostalgic about our childhood where some of us camped in front of the TV every afternoon to watch Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels live to save another day.  Plus there was that cool horse, Silver.

Anyway, Jerry Bruckheimer tweeted a first look at his remake of the classic tale, starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer.  I love that they’ve kept the white hat, but I’ve got to say I love the expression on Tonto’s face even more.  Really makes you wonder what he’s thinking about his old ke-mo sah-bee.

Super Powered Characters: The Real Apocalypse

March 8, 2012 at 9:14 am | Posted in Opinion, Star Wars: The Old Republic | 5 Comments

Star Wars is home to many different types of characters. From the films to the Expanded Universe, we have seen a plethora of humans and aliens, Force users and non-Force sensitives, good guys and bad guys. Lately a new type of character has become apparent: the superhuman. The superhuman doesn’t actually have to be human, and they can be good or bad. The defining characteristic is that they have powers beyond anything we have seen before in the EU. When looking at this new class of character, one example jumps out above all the rest.

Two Part Interview with Joe Schreiber

Eric Shirey posted a two part interview on Yahoo with author Joe Schreiber. The interviews focus on Star Wars and nicely touch upon the recent appearance of zombies in The Clone Wars.

What do you think about “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” introducing a couple types of “zombies?” Do you think they were influenced by “Death Troopers?”

JS: I loved it! My kids and I were sitting in a hotel room in Orlando watching that episode last week when it came on, and my 8-year-old daughter kept hiding her eyes, but my son — who’s 10 — kept saying how cool it was, and I was right there with him. I’d certainly be flattered if “Death Troopers” had been an influence — I have no way of knowing — but either way, I thought Dave Filoni and “The Clone Wars” guys used it to great effect.

You can read the first part of the interview here and the second part here.
