Ralph McQuarrie: Farewell to One of the Great Ones

Ralph McQuarrie, the artist behind so many Star Wars concepts, has passed away today at the age of 82. Besides his significant contribution to the Star Wars movies, McQuarrie was awarded an Academy Award for Visual Effects for the movie Cocoon. A true space visionary, McQuarrie’s talents were used by NASA for the Apollo missions.

Honored for his talent during his life, Ralph McQuarrie will be missed.
