In two more weeks Disney’s John Carter will hit theaters. What is John Carter you might ask? In fact some people are watching the official trailers and are still asking that question. In order to address the issue, some fans have delved into all the officially released clips from Disney and have compiled them into a somewhat more understandable order, one that might actually give you a better idea of what the movie is about.

If you’re still in the dark, my advice is read the book. It’s actually a pretty good read and best of all the eBook is free on Amazon. Failing that, you can always read the wikipedia page.

In other news, Suvudu talked with Tony Sims who was at an early screening for the film. While he couldn’t share his opinions about the movie, he did drop some news about possible sequels.

MS: That sounds good to me. There are quite a few books in the Burroughs series, so I have to ask: Did you hear anything about a sequel?

TS: Stanton has already written parts two and three. These are ready to go, he told us. However, the success on this first movie will dictate if that will happen. I don’t want to spoil anything, but audiences will be satisfied either way.

Having read and enjoyed the book, I’m hope the movie turns out well. The one thing Hollywood can always use more of is good sci-fi movies.
