In two more weeks Disney’s John Carter will hit theaters. What is John Carter you might ask? In fact some people are watching the official trailers and are still asking that question. In order to address the issue, some fans have delved into all the officially released clips from Disney and have compiled them into a somewhat more understandable order, one that might actually give you a better idea of what the movie is about.
If you’re still in the dark, my advice is read the book. It’s actually a pretty good read and best of all the eBook is free on Amazon. Failing that, you can always read the wikipedia page. Continue Reading ‘John Carter’ Fan Trailer and Sequel News…
Lane’s Introductory Roadmap to the Post-RotJ Expanded Universe

Meet Mara Jade. She'll be very important in the EU.
I think we all recall how we felt the first time we saw the credits roll at the end of Return of the Jedi. A moment of satisfaction, a satisfying conclusion to a science fiction saga we enjoyed so much. Then, almost without fail, a moment of dread. It’s over! But I’m not ready for it to be over! What do Luke, Han, Leia, and Chewie do next? There has to be more, right?
Mercifully, there is: the Expanded Universe.
Perhaps you’ve hit up the Internet and have done some preliminary research into the EU, thinking you’ll pick up one of these books to satisfy your hunger for more Star Wars. It seems like a great idea at first, right up until you discover that there are scores upon scores of books, comics, and games featuring different characters and eras. Where do you start?
To preface, this is intended to be a roadmap to becoming familiar with the post-Return of the Jedi EU. This isn’t an official Roqoo Depot reading guide, just my own suggestions* on what novels will best help a new reader build up the needed knowledge of universe, plots, and characters to understand and appreciate the current state of the Expanded Universe. It is possible to get every bit of information needed from Wookieepedia, but if you’re anything like me, it’s simply more fun and enjoyable to develop this knowledge by reading the novels over reading a dry wiki-style overview.
*But a big, big thank you to my friend Bria for helping me compile this list
Seventeen books comprise this list and are broken into five distinct phases. While that sounds like a lot, it’s a mere drop in the giant Expanded Universe bucket. Some of these novels are optional depending on your preferences and are marked as such.
To the cut!

Official Cover for ‘Perry’s Killer Playlist’ by Joe Schreiber
February 24, 2012 at 9:16 am | Posted in Books | Leave a commentTags: joe schreiber, perry's killer playlist
Joe Schreiber’s next book Perry’s Killer Playlist now has an official cover.
When Perry ends up in Venice on a European tour with his band Inchworm, he can’t resist a visit to Harry’s Bar, where Gobi told him she’d meet him someday. The last time he saw Gobi, five people were assassinated one crazy night in New York City. Well . . . Gobi shows up, and once again Perry is roped into a wild, nonstop thrill ride with a body count. Double crossings, kidnappings, CIA agents, arms dealers, boat chases in Venetian canals, and a shootout in the middle of a Santa Claus convention ensue.
The book is a sequel to Au Revoir Crazy European Chick, and will be out on November 6 in hardcover. Pre-orders are already up on Amazon. Remember pre-orders significantly help out the author, so if you plan on getting the book, that’s the way to go.
