Star Wars Books has posted mini-excerpt #2 for Jeff Grubb’s upcoming novel Star Wars: Scourge.

Another slurred garble, and the droid hesitated. One of the Wookiees smacked it across the back of the head, and it spat out, “Mighty Zonnos wants you to know that even if you fail to find his brother or – Ardos forbid – are too late to save him, you will still have an ally among the Anjiliacs.”

Zonnos waited for the droid to finish, then managed a lazy, single wink. Then it laughed, and for a moment Mander’s blood ran cold.

Scourge will be out on April 24th. You can check out the previous excerpt here. Feel free to discuss the new excerpt on our forums.

Author Joe Schreiber is having a meeting at Random House today according to his tweet.  On Tuesday we posted a book proposal that is right up Mr. Schreiber’s alley.  As well Erich of Del Rey tweeted this:

This week a fantastic idea for a #StarWars novel got paired with the perfect author to write it. Can’t wait until we can tell you more.

Coincidence?  We think not: the icing on the cake.

What next? Will Chris Trevas be working on a new Star Wars cover? If so, then we can only speculate that it will contain some smooching skeletons.

Jeff Grubb Interviews

Jeff Grubb, author of the upcoming novel Star Wars: Scourge, did a couple interviews recently. While none of them focuses on Star Wars and his upcoming book, they do reveal some nice info about him, his background, and the work he’s done.

Roleplayers Chronicle did an interview that covers some general questions that were entertaining to read. They revealed some insight on how Jeff met his wife, who his favorite authors are, and what he thinks of his own novels. It also covers a lot of his gaming work, both tabletop and PC, and his opinions on those subjects.

Thomas A. Knight posted an interview yesterday with Jeff. Knight’s interview delves pretty quickly into gaming. If you’re not into that, you’ll want to skim down about halfway where they start talking about The Brothers’ War. Some of the answers are very similar to other interview, and overall it’s very heavy with tabletop gaming discussion.

Scourge comes out April 24, which is still some time away. If you’d like to check out an interview with a bit more focus on Star Wars and Jeff’s novels, you can take a look at our interview from back in September.
