Upcoming Expanded Universe Figures

Hot off the press over at JediNews, the U.K.’s leading Star Wars site, they have the first images of two upcoming EU figures for this year!!  According to the story these should hit shelves around August of this year!  First up is Shae Vizla from The Old Republic:

Announcing Tosche Station – Roqoo Depot’s Official Podcast

Today we’re proud to announce the launch of Tosche Station, a joint venture between Roqoo Depot and Solo Sound to bring you a brand new podcast.

About three weeks ago, EUCantina’s Austin Blank approached me about starting up a new Star Wars and general geek culture podcast. After hashing out the details with him and my lovely overlords here at Roqoo Depot, we worked out an arrangement all of us are extremely happy with. Tosche Station is the newest podcast on the Solo Sound network and, in addition, will be Roqoo Depot’s official podcast. Here’s more from the official Solo Sound press release:

Tosche Station Radio is a podcast brought to you by Roqoo Depot and Solo Sound. Hosts Brian and Nanci bring a strong enthusiasm and a vast knowledge to the show as they discuss all things Star Wars and geek.

This is the brand new Solo Sound podcast I’ve been working on for several weeks. The first episode should be out soon – I’ve heard it and I’m very excited to release it to the public. Nanci (EUCantina news reporter) and Brian (writer for Roqoo Depot) are great!

As you see at the bottom of that statement, I’ll be co-hosting this show with Nanci from EU Cantina. This is a project I wouldn’t dream of venturing into on my own and I’m absolutely thrilled to have one of my closest friends at the helm of this podcast with me. Together we’re going to be discussing anything and everything Star Wars as well as general geek culture and entertainment in all forms.

Our first episode will be going live on Friday, so stay tuned!

How has your approach to the subjects of the biographies changed over the last four volumes?

The Phantom Menace 3D Special Events

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D will be hitting theaters on February 10 and AMC Theaters is planning some special events for the release. First off, there will be a new Hasbro Star Wars Fighter Pod given away to anyone who buys a RealD® 3D ticket for opening weekend. Secondly several theaters will have special screenings that’ll include:

  • Exclusive Anakin Skywalker Podracer 3D glasses with ticket purchase, to truly get into the speed and spectacle of 3D Star Wars on the big screen.
  • A Hasbro Star Wars FIGHTER PODS collectible toy with RealD 3D ticket purchase
  • A LEGO® feature area
  • Darth Maul face-painting; a chance to reveal your inner Sith Lord at long last!
  • Special character appearances for photo opportunities
  • Demonstrations of the upcoming Xbox Kinect™ Star Wars

Live Facebook Chat with Darth Plagueis‘ author James Luceno

Star Wars Books will be hosting a live Facebook chat with Star Wars author James Luceno. The chat will take place on their Facebook page tomorrow at 3:00 PM Eastern time. You can check out the official announcement here.

Remember to preface any Darth Plagueis spoilers during the chat with a nice spoiler tag in consideration to other fans who haven’t read the book yet. The chats usually run about an hour in length, so take your time, follow along, and have fun.
