The galaxy’s most notorious bounty hunter makes an appearance in the latest Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse excerpt, courtesy of Star Wars Books:

Fett was clearly hunting someone, and Tahiri was beginning to think he didn’t care who knew it. He could have disguised his purpose by buying a few supplies, varying the length of his visits, or emerging with a handful of sales flimsis. Instead he was simply moving from one business to the next as quickly as possible, staying only long enough to bribe or intimidate whoever happened to be behind the counter. It almost seemed as though he wanted his prey to know he was coming.

Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse goes on sale on March 13, 2012.

drewkarpyshynA little late but still worth checking out, Drew Karpyshyn did an interview with Castles & Cooks last week. It covers mostly his work with Star Wars, both books and video games.

CnC: Is there a Star Wars story (character, time period, location, etc.) that you haven’t told yet that you would like to?

Drew Karpyshyn: I’d love to explore Yoda’s past. Not much is known about the little guy, but I think there’s a lot more to him than meets the eye. He’s almost 900 years old, he’s a Jedi Master and he has a deep understanding of the dark side that you wouldn’t get without treading down a few dangerous paths. (I don’t know if Mr. Lucas ever intends to open the door to Yoda’s past, but hopefully he’ll read this and keep me in mind just in case.) I’d also like to follow the chain of Sith Lords from Darth Zannah and Cognus all the way down to Plagueis. And I’m currently working on another Old Republic novel set just after the events of the SWTOR MMO, though I can’t say too much about it yet.

Drew also covers the original fantasy trilogy he’s working on, and what his response would be to writing Star Wars Episode VII. Click here to read the full interview.

Author Paul S. Kemp did a Q&A on Reddit that covers not only his Star Wars books, but also his non-Star Wars books. Paul talks about the freedom he has with his writing, how he got into Star Wars, some of his favorite authors and books, and even delves into his preferred brand of scotch. One very interesting thing he mentioned was this…

I’d love to write the novel in which Grandmaster Luke Skywalker goes out in a way that suits such a great character.
