The Official Star Wars Blog today released the cover image for Aaron Allston’s next entry in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, X-Wing: Mercy Kill.
Mercy Kill marks the end of a thirteen year hiatus for one of the most beloved series in the entire EU. Starfighters of Adumar was the last novel released in 1999 and, coincidentally, was the last Star Wars novel published by Bantam Spectra before the contract switched hands to Del Rey.
A brief description of the novel courtesy of publisher Random House:
Outcasts and misfits, spies and warriors, pilots and troublemakers — they’re Wraith Squadron. Founded decades ago by ace pilot Wedge Antilles, this elite intelligence unit, disbanded at the end of a catastrophic civil war, is reunited by former leader Face Loran to find out whether one of the galaxy’s most powerful military officers is a traitor… and whether anyone can stop him if he is. To succeed in their mission, the Wraiths must become thieves, pirates, imposters, forgers, and liars, staying just one step ahead of their enemies and the law!

UPDATE: Suvudu also has a new blurb which you can check out here.
