Today Roqoo Depot wishes a very happy birthday to one of our favorite Star Wars authors, Michael A. Stackpole. Mike broke into the Star Wars scene with the X-Wing series and turned Corran Horn into a major character in the Expanded Universe. His Star Wars novels include Rogue Squadron, Wedge’s Gamble, The Krytos Trap,The Bacta War; I, Jedi, Isard’s Revenge, Onslaught,and Ruin. He’s also written several short stories and four Star Wars comic series.
Mike was born in Wausau, Wisconsin. His father was a Pediatrician and his mother was a teacher. Six months after he was born, they moved to Vermount. There his brother Patrick and sister Kerin were born. While Patrick went on to a career in the military and his sister became a lawyer, Mike was destined for something else. He went to the University of Vermount and got a Bachelor’s of Art degree in History. Afterwards, he moved to Arizona where he still resides. He worked as a designer for role-playing games, wrote magazine articles for the industry, and later designed computer games such as Bard’s Tale III, Wasteland, Star Trek: 25th Anniversary, and Star Trek: Judgment Rites.
