Maya’s Latest Entry in the Padawan’s Journal

Co-author of the upcoming Star Wars: Shadow Games, Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff has written a new entry in her ongoing Padawan’s Journal over on the Book View Cafe Blog. A Padawan’s Journal #43: “George McFly, a Box of Books, and Me” relates Maya’s experience with Shadow Games to Back to the Future. You can check it out here. If you haven’t been reading the journal entries, they are well worth the time. Maya shares some pretty neat insights into the writing process for Shadow Games.
Star Wars: Shadow Games will be out on November 29 in paperback and digital formats.

The release date for Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse has been moved up to March 13, 2012 (was April 3, 2012) as recently announced on Del Rey’s Star Wars Facebook page.
Update: Star Wars Books also provided a release date for Aaron Allston’s Mercy Kill, August 7, 2012, which will also be a hardback.

Marianne de Pierres Interview with Tom Taylor

Marianne de Pierres posted an interview on their website with Star Wars comic writer Tom Taylor. Tom is the writer for the ongoing Star Wars comic series Invasion. He has also written Star Wars: Blood Ties, Star Wars Adventures Volume 3: Luke Skywalker and the Treasure of the Dragonsnakes, Star Wars Adventures Volume 4: The Will of Darth Vader, and will be writing the new arc for Blood Ties entitled Boba Fett is Dead.
The interview covers Tom’s work with comics, film and theater; his personal choice between the ultimate superheroes: Superman or Batman; and his upcoming projects which include The Deep: The Vanishing Island, Believe, Blood Ties: Boba Fett is Dead, another DC Comics project, a 2000 AD project, two secret projects with big publishers, and even a short film. Today DC Universe Online Legends #17 comes out. Written by Star Wars comic writer Tom Taylor, this issue will wrap up The Brainiac – Sinestro Corps War arc. After reading #16, I can’t wait to see how this one turns out.
Hal Jordan is seriously conflicted as he and the Green Lantern Corps arrive at Korugar to “contain” the war between Sinestro’s Yellow Lanterns and Brainiac – but can they save the planet of innocents caught in the crossfire? And how desperate could things possibly get that would see Hal team up with Sinestro for one final battle?!
