Today we wish comic writer Tom Taylor a very happy birthday. Tom is the writer for the Star Wars comic series Invasion and Blood Ties. His birthday is technically November 29, which is tomorrow here in the United States, but since Tom was born in Australia, and since it’s already November 29th there, now is as good a time as any to celebrate.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Tom has had a long career in writing and performing for theater and musicals, winning numerous awards. As a comic writer, he’s written for Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, and Gestalt Publishing. His original works include several graphic novels, The Deep: Here Be Dragons, The Example, and his comic series Rombies which combines ancient Rome with zombies. His Star Wars works include Invasion: Refugees, Invasion: Rescues, Invasion: Revelations, Blood Ties: A Tale of Jango and Boba Fett, Star Wars Adventures: Luke Skywalker and the Treasures of the Dragonsnakes, and Star Wars Adventures: The Will of Darth Vader. His next Star Wars project will be Blood Ties: Boba Fett is Dead, plus the unnamed fourth arc in the Invasion series. Continue Reading Happy Birthday, Tom Taylor…

Today Roqoo Depot wishes a very happy birthday to one of our favorite Star Wars authors, Michael A. Stackpole. Mike broke into the Star Wars scene with the X-Wing series and turned Corran Horn into a major character in the Expanded Universe. His Star Wars novels include Rogue Squadron, Wedge’s Gamble, The Krytos Trap,The Bacta War; I, Jedi, Isard’s Revenge, Onslaught, and Ruin. He’s also written several short stories and four Star Wars comic series.

Mike was born in Wausau, Wisconsin. His father was a Pediatrician and his mother was a teacher. Six months after he was born, they moved to Vermount. There his brother Patrick and sister Kerin were born. While Patrick went on to a career in the military and his sister became a lawyer, Mike was destined for something else. He went to the University of Vermount and got a Bachelor’s of Art degree in History. Afterwards, he moved to Arizona where he still resides. He worked as a designer for role-playing games, wrote magazine articles for the industry, and later designed computer games such as Bard’s Tale III, Wasteland, Star Trek: 25th Anniversary, and Star Trek: Judgment Rites.
