With the recent film release of Conan, many readers might have seen the novelization on bookshelves. What you might not have realized is that it’s written by esteemed author Michael A. Stackpole. Now it’s one thing to read a book that was so good it inspired a movie, but novelizations are often not held up to the same standards as other books. I wondered to myself whether Stackpole could pull off a novelization that was truly enjoyable, one that could stand up on its own and not feel like a script with a few bonus scenes.
