SWTOR Limited Launch

In order to manage the number of people who play the game on their servers, EA announced yesterday that it’s limiting its initial launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO.  What Culture! cited a statement from an EA spokesperson:

”We are limiting launch quantities of Star Wars: The Old Republic to ensure players have a smooth and high quality game experience and service at launch, All versions of the game — physical and digital — are available for pre-order on a limited basis only. Once they are gone, they are gone.”

Although the shut off number is unknown only the first 50,000 are guaranteed, and the release date has still not been confirmed.
