StarWars.com announced that LucasBooks’ executive editor is retiring as of July 2011.   I asked Star Wars authors to share their experiences working with the one and only Sue Rostoni.  Here is what Alex Irvine, Christie Golden and Daniel Wallace had to say:

Daniel Wallace, author of  the upcoming Clone Wars Adventures: The Official Guide to the Virtual World, said:

When I started writing Star Wars with The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons in the ’90s, Sue was my editor. She was wonderful, patient, and incredibly helpful to a young writer with his first big publishing gig. I’m immensely grateful to Sue, and though I’m sad to see her retire I wish her nothing but the best.

Christie Golden, author of the upcoming Fate of the Jedi: Ascension, said:

It has of course been a wonderful experience to be an official part of the Star Wars universe, but the opportunity to work on three books with Sue made it even better.  She is an amazing woman, intelligent and upbeat and fun, and as I said to her, I am feeling terribly sorry for myself that I won’t get to work with her any more.  Her insight, vast experience, support and good nature made being the “new kid” so much easier.  However, I am thrilled at how happy she seems to be with this new chapter in her life, and she knows I wish her -nothing- but the best!

Alex Irvine, author of the Nom Sunrider novel, Mandorla, said:

Sue’s retirement is a big loss for the Star Wars community, but a big gain for [her pets] Tiki and Butters.

Roqoo Depot Staff would like to thank Alex Irvine, Daniel Wallace and Christie Golden for speaking to us.  Sue Rostoni will be missed by Star Wars authors and fans alike.

If you haven’t already, head on over to the Star Wars Books Facebook page and give your regards to Sue Rostoni!
