Today Star Wars Books gave us an excerpt from Christie Golden’s upcoming book Ascension instead of the usual Timothy Zahn annotation from Heir to the Empire. Not surprisingly the excerpt doesn’t reveal much but presents plenty of questions. Here is the excerpt:

She pointed to a message flashing on the screen.
INFORMATION YOU WILL WANT TO HAVE.
SAFETY FOR YOUR FAMILY GUARANTEED.
REPLY FOR MORE.
“Short and completely mysterious,” Han mused, frowning a little.
“It came in on my private channel.”
“The one only about six people and two droids have access to?”
“That would be the one.”

What could it mean? Feel free to speculate.

Star Wars Celebration VI Details Revealed

StarWars.com has unveiled the details of Celebration VI. The massive event will take place in Orlando, Florida next year, August 23-26 at the Orange County Convention Center. From The Official Site this morning comes a 6 page preview of a new stand alone issue of Star War: The Old Rebublic entiled The Lost Suns. This stand alone issue is based on the video game from BioWare.

Happy Birthday, Sean Stewart

Today we wish Star Wars author Sean Stewart a happy birthday! Sean Stewart is the author of Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, and over eleven other novels including Resurrection Man. Born in Lubbock, Texas in 1965, Sean and his family moved to Canada just three years later. As a child Sean plunged into reading, fencing, and acting in his high school years. Eventually he decided to commit himself to writing. He graduated from the University of Alberta, married his high school sweetheart, and didn’t hit publishing pay dirt until his fifth novel, Passion Play. Currently he is part of a new venture called Fourth Wall Studios which is set to create “massively multiplayer online games, augmented-reality worlds, and other forms of experimental entertainment.” You can find out more about Sean Stewart by visiting his official site.
